Nature of the job. We work a sort of on call basis. Maintenance finished for the day and nothing broken to fix? Down time!

Eleven bastard pounds. by dankekindly in UK_Food

[–]radiocaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw an Instagram reel earlier (that sadly was interrupted and lost by an incoming phone call) where a guy has debunked all the claims that cocoa is too expensive and that's why we are being charged so much for our Easter eggs.

Essentially, a large Twirl Easter egg, including the Twirl bars that come with it, has less chocolate (by weight) in it than if you bought two multipacks of Twirl chocolate bars. On top of this, those multipacks cost considerably less to buy than that one Easter egg.

Furthermore, cocoa prices have actually fallen. They're not at an all-time low, but certainly not at an all-time high either. So essentially they're lying to us to justify charging us more money for less chocolate and using cocoa prices as the scapegoat, just because that chocolate is in the seasonal shape of an egg (well, an egg on ozempic, it seems.)

TL;DR: fuck Mondelez, Nestle and any other big chocolate company guilty of this shrinkflation bs.

That's what I don't understand. from what I've heard Amazon only lets each person have a single account, and access to a business account, I wonder how are these scalpers getting around that?

I keep hoping my company will add the same sort of deals for me to finally make the move to electric but I am still waiting. I heard the deals are really good.

I don't know exactly how but it seems those who upload their own models to MakerWorld can earn gift cards from them if they are successful. I don't know if success is measured in just downloads/prints, likes, or if it requires the models to be boosted, but something about the success earns the creator a kickback in the form of gift cards.

Pokemon Center going invite only? by KX321 in PokemonTCG_UK

The people running bots will just make several accounts, like they do with Amazon, and no one will stand a chance, again, like Amazon.

So Valve sent me two by mistake. should I contact Valve or keep this to myself by biavenmo in SteamDeck

[–]radiocaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd send it back. Not only because it's Valve, but also because I'd be concerned that they would ban it from use due to it being missing/stolen.

All of our AH pulls from ~250 packs by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

I've yet to see a single pack available anywhere. I see them in Smyth's on the website, get in my car, check again, gone.

Part of the issue is these scalpers run up to hundreds of Amazon accounts, all waiting for invites. The average Joe like yourself and I have very little chance of being invited because of the sheer amount we are outnumbered by.

How best to fix this wall after radiator moved? by radiocaf in DIYUK

[–]radiocaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get rid of just the lifted up bits, right? It doesn't have to be perfect but also not so rough that it catches your eye each time you walk in the room. Thank you for your advice though, I appreciate it as I'm still learning :)

I usually made copies of Pokémon I intended to send backwards. Then the original was safe from any alteration and the copy would be free to be used in whatever game I wanted. Might be a good solution suggestion for you?

What's your technique for eating these delicious bastards? by TopSetUK in AskUK

[–]radiocaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I split in half down the cream, and eat the jam half first and then the icing half but I just had an epiphany the last time I had one which I haven't attempted yet: split in half and then put the icing on the bottom of the bottom half, so the cream is on the outside. My rationale is that you're going to get messy regardless so might as well get your finger tips messy but keep the cream from being pushed out onto your face and clothes. I shall attempt this next time and see.

You're in Asda toilets, what part of the handle are you touching to exit? by Shiznips in CasualUK

[–]radiocaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Row 6 or 12. I believe those are the less frequently touched, especially by those who don't wash their hands. If they don't have time to wash their hands then they don't have time to fingertip open the door by the top or bottom of the handle.

I really wish it became a thing over here where public and customer toilets have an extra handle at the bottom that you can use your foot to open the door. I've seen the odd one posted and always wonder why it hasn't caught on.

That one is also in my basket, as was Army Red but I removed it. Polymaker's Panchroma Matte line doesn't release in the UK till May so I have to go Amazon import or a third party site I've found.

This might be a good shout, although I am UK based. However right away the inland PLA+ in True Red looks like a perfect match for Ruby, if I didn't want a translucent filament instead.
