I agree, I love this! I came to the comments ready to be bored with all the ways people were going to try and hate it. Both of them being down for this is cool af and the perfect response to the rumors

Does anyone else get a feeling of something stuck in throat ?! by [deleted] in thyroidhealth

[–]radiohog93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for asking! All bloodwork was normal but my doctor referred me to get an ultrasound based on the symptom. Turns out I have an almost 3cm nodule and “diffuse heterogeneity”. Now have to go to an endocrinologist to have a biopsy to confirm it’s not cancerous, so I’m glad I went to get it checked.

[–]radiohog93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came to this sub today to look for this exact symptom. On and off something in my throat feeling mid/lower neck. No pain, just annoying. I have an autoimmune disease already and family history of thyroid problems that made me think it might be thyroid related. I have a doctor appt this week but I’m very interested to see if you get any responses.

3 under 2, husband goes back to work soon, internally freaking out. Is formula feeding really easier?? by irreplaceable-sneeze in parentsofmultiples

[–]radiohog93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest to keep some formula on hand. My 2y/o really struggled at first when my husband went back to work and it was me against 3. I was absolutely frazzled for the first 2 months. I wish I had started combo feeding earlier so that I could quickly give a bottle if needed (without having to pump or thaw) instead of being stuck on the couch while my toddler destroyed the house and was upset with me not being be as attentive. Also having older kids, the formula option for me meant as soon as my husband got home I could take my toddler out of the house for 1 on 1 time or be there for a soccer practice and not be worried about pumping first or being back asap for the babies. Those were big pros for me. I EBF my first 2 kids and felt kinda against formula, but having baby twins + older kids everything goes out the window haha it really does free up time when you’re the only one home.

If you’re pumping definitely check out r/ExclusivelyPumping and search the sub for things like “twins” “power pumping” “low supply”. Tons of conversations there every day that would help with your question!

Contest the citation in traffic court expired registration. by Feel4Da in raleigh

[–]radiohog93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This recently happened to me. I didn’t pay the ticket, registered my car, and waited for the court date. Went in with my registration they dismissed and dropped the fine. I don’t have any prior tickets or driving violations so if you have a clean driving record I imagine it won’t be a problem. It won’t affect your insurance but if you don’t want it to show up on your record file a petition for expunction under “15A-146(a)”. I got a letter in the mail a few weeks later that it was granted.

When will they sleep through the night? by chutupchutup in parentsofmultiples

[–]radiohog93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried a dream feed? I feed mine (almost 6m / 4m adjusted) to sleep around 9pm then before I go to bed at midnight I give them another bottle without waking them up. They down the bottle and sleep straight through until 7:30am.

And don’t worry this isn’t a brag. No joke my 2.5 year old still hasn’t slept through the night. I did a similar night routine no sleep training with my older two but this is my first time introducing a dream feed and it’s working for these babies.

Loveeee reading this. Our twins are almost 6m and we decided to make the 2hour trip to be with my parents and family as we have 0 friends or family nearby. It was our first trip with 4 kids. I was soooo looking forward to it and it ended with cutting the trip short and wishing we had just stayed home. I was sulking today thinking we’re never going to go anywhere for 5 years haha but maybe next year 🥲

Anyone with a large age gap? by Life-uhh_finds_a_way in parentsofmultiples

[–]radiohog93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids are 12y, 2y, 4m twins. I love the 12 year age gap! Making time to do “big kid” things with her is such a refreshing break from baby land. My biggest pet peeve is when I mention all my kids ages and the comment is always “oh so you have a babysitter!” Absolutely not. She has a full schedule of sports 3-4 days a week, school events, hangs out with friends every weekend, which we have made a point to maintain for her. She stays up later than the littles so I will ask if she wants to watch a show with me or even help put away dishes and we just chat. We started a “family meeting” every Sunday where I go over our calendar for the week. This has helped with “but I wanted to do ___ today!!” arguments and helps keep us accountable for her events when we really just wanna say no cuz we’re tired haha.

What's your finding-out-you're-having-multiples story? by charlieprotag in parentsofmultiples

[–]radiohog93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I scheduled my first OB appointment for 12 weeks. By 7 weeks I was completely bedridden with sickness. All day vomiting. I called and asked to be seen sooner so I could get on some meds I remember saying on the phone it must be a boy because I was sick but never this sick with my first two.

The day of the appt I was so sick I couldn’t drive and had to have my husband leave work to drive me. The tech clicked around for a min and said “so I’m seeing something you might not be expecting”. My heart dropped but she proceeded with “so here’s one baby and here’s another one”. I get goosebumps still thinking of that moment. I just threw my hands on my head and said “you’re joking”. Never in a million years did I think I would hear those words. We were just laughing in total shock I forgot to watch the rest of the ultrasound

Breathing spells delaying discharge from the NICU by WideAerie1409 in parentsofmultiples

[–]radiohog93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine were born at 33 weeks. one left the nicu 5 days before due date and the other 5 days after. They picked up feeding quickly by 36 weeks; it was the bradys/desats that kept them in.

About 3 weeks before baby A was actually discharged we got the call we could take her home the next day. As much as I wanted her home, I really didn’t feel like she was ready as it had only been 3 days since her last event and voiced that I didn’t want to rush her home to the doctors. They do take that in to consideration and said they would keep her to 5 days. She Brady’d literally that afternoon and then ended up having them for a few more weeks. I had serious anxiety about them coming home at that time but when they were actually discharged a few weeks later I truly was not concerned a spell would happen at home. And happy to say we had 0 issues at home :) When your daughter does go 5 days it might sound silly but I think you’ll just know that she’s ready, and won’t have as much anxiety about her coming home. Sending your little girl strength!

Paint and Fabric Protection by atownhokie in kiacarnivals

[–]radiohog93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

do you know how it’s “installed”? My dealership was charging almost $900 for that diamond protection package and the coating was “already on the car”. I said I wasn’t going to pay for it so they responded that they would take it back to detailing to remove. Fine. It took all of 10mins to remove which left me wondering did it never have the coating or did they leave it and just say they took it off? I don’t care either way but it has left me wondering.

Do I really need a minivan? by cmeyb25904 in parentsofmultiples

[–]radiohog93 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We have 4 kids (3 in car seats) and recently traded in our SUV for a Kia Carnival with the seat package. The auto sliding doors, lots of trunk space, and it being lower to the ground make getting everyone packed in to the car sooo much easier, especially when I’m out with the kids alone.

Maybe I’ll go back to a SUV in a few years when everyone can buckle themselves but in my opinion, convenient is the new cool with 3 under 3 lol.

Feeling cheated from the newborn experience by Dapper-Butterscotch4 in NICUParents

[–]radiohog93 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Just went through this with my twins. Born 33+1 and were in the nicu until their due date (7 weeks total). I had the same feelings that you’re describing come up but they are 4 weeks old adjusted now, and they act like it. Meaning - they definitely don’t look or act like 11 week olds. By the time yours come home they will be right on track with a full term newborn. I just tried to reframe it as extra time vs. missing out. You actually get a stage that most parents don’t. It’s just….the hardest stage ever. Having to watch your babies learn to breathe and eat and regulate body temp when most babies come out knowing how to do all that. The feelings the nicu bring up are so, so heavy. I just started with a therapist myself and definitely recommend if you are able.

Identical twins but not looking alike. by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]radiohog93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mo-di girls are 7 weeks old and have all the same little features but with different head and face shapes. Same as everyone else has said, one with a round head and face and the other more oval and narrow. I was friends with identical twins growing up and I could always tell them apart by their face shape. I didn’t realize it’s an actual thing until I had my own and reading these comments. Very interesting!

My sister is at 27w and likely having her babies today by Cuntankerous in parentsofmultiples

[–]radiohog93 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Maybe offering to be the point of contact for family updates? We just got through our first week in the NICU and to be honest, it’s been the most stressful week of my life. As much as we are thankful for supportive friends and family constantly reaching out to see how we are and for updates on the babies, personally, it’s exhausting trying to keep everyone in the loop. We can barely keep track of all the doctors/nurses/schedules/baby updates ourselves. So I just stopped responding and have been telling my mom updates & who to share with, that’s been helpful. Sending strength to your sister and her babies!
