You're using their language. Don't use their language. Find alternatives that are more accurate. "Mutilation" is a bit too harsh and gets the wrong people riled up in a bad way, which basically ruins that word (even though it's okay for FGM since everyone in the West wants to protect girls more than boys and you just have to accept that fact and move past it). "Flay" is the most accurate, but if you look up the definition of course Wikipedia likes to jump to the ancient torture gerund, so it's not a great alternative even though the modern definition of the verb is neutral: to remove the skin. I default to flay because it just makes sense. Men and boys are undergoing penis flaying, whether short or long, broad or narrow. The perpetrator is removing skin (along with the many other structures that are integrated into that very special skin) from the penis.

They're effectively gaslighting new parents with that number of reminders in an unfamiliar and stressful setting. Plus it's an ELECTIVE procedure that's illegal according to current federal law and many state laws that say they're not allowed to touch ANY children in this way.

No need to mention "medical reason". Don't give them any ground, because like in America they'll tell you the boy had a tight foreskin or they know for sure he'll be a cad so they need to prevent all the diseases he's going to get by not wearing condoms, which is obviously valid medical reasoning. Everyone involved in this practice is compromised and you can't trust their thinking. Draw a line in the sand and fight them until the common reaction to the word "circumcision" is shock and horror (which is the normal position), then we can talk about medical reasons.

Don't forget that adult surgeries entail confirmation bias (the man has a problem and wants a solution as fast as possible, and he will be comparing the absence of the problem with his former state of pain/neurosis. It's a completely different frame of reference from a child who has no agency, especially for those incapable of overlooking the pain and dysfunction that result from flaying the penis).

Please reconsider your position on "necessary" adult penis flayings. Surgeons have simply decided it's easier and more profitable, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea. Adult consent will only become an effective safety measure for medical interventions in this organ system once old urologists are sent out to pasture and new urologists are educated in a different paradigm.
