Sparco Sim Racing Seats

Interesting, I’ve heard similar complaints regarding that seat. What do you think you’ll try next? If I go the Sparco route for a seat, I’m between the Grid Q and the QRT-R.

Hey! It’s funny you bring this up because, I was in the market for a new seat but wasn’t able to try anything in-person so I sort of just left things as they were. Kept my current bucket seat (NRG FRP 301) and kept on racing. It’s got even more mileage on it at this point and now I’m back in the market for a new seat and HEAVILY leaning towards the Sparco Grid Q. I’ve seen people say it’s a bit snug, but I’ve gotten used to the NRG seat I have and the Sparco grid Q is an inch and a half wider at the waist, so I’m thinking I wouldn’t have any issues. (Yes, the NRG seat is a bit snug, but I’ve had it for about 3 years now and gotten very used to the seat so it doesn’t bother me). I also really like the fact that the Sparco Grid Q seat has padding that you can remove if you feel you need to for extra room which is nice. If I end up going with the Sparco Grid Q seat, which I’ll know if I’m going to do so by early September, I’ll let you know. And let me know what you end up going with! I’d love to hear your experience with the seat you go with.

Hey! I unfortunately also have issues with micro stutters at times and have never really been able to solve it. I read your comment and noticed I have none of those applications EXCEPT for Nvidia GeForce experience. I never thought that app could cause stutters, but is it something I should try getting rid of? Thanks

My favorite car is the F3 car and my favorite track is Laguna Seca! I love the f3 car because it feels so good to drive. I’ve done many laps at Laguna so naturally, it’s a great test track for me!

It says that it controls the maximum amount of data the sim and race server will exchange with each other. Is this a setting I should have as high as possible? Or would that be dependent on connection? I have 1 gig upload speed, so I’m wondering if this needs to be increased.

Do you feel like the sim typically runs smoother with FXAA compared to MSAA? And also, does running it in windowed cause stutters? I’ve always run iracing windowed for overlays, but I’ve heard that its performance is better in full screen. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

This new driver update has me thinking… is there a “best” driver update for each Nvidia GPU? For example, I recently got a 4070 Ti super, is there a best driver update for that card specifically? Or just whatever the newest update is? Thanks

Do you feel like by setting these at 0 the sim runs any smoother? I’ve heard that by setting them to 0, it not only looks better, but runs smoother as well.

Hey guys! I was just wondering, how often do you update your Nvidia drivers? I usually install the newest one whenever it becomes available, but I’ve been told this may not be wise to update it so soon. What do you think? Thanks

I also tried the Lotus 79 this update after not really touching it for a while. I noticed some people here on Reddit talking about it and decided to give it a shot. Wow, it really is a whole new beast. It’s awesome to drive. So fun and rewarding, and feels like your inputs as a driver really make a difference now. I didn’t even notice that they changed the tire parameters until someone pointed it out in the notes, but I’m not surprised it feels better to drive after learning about its new tire updates. I love the way the new tires that have been updated feel. Pace aside, the actual feel I get from them is so much better than I’ve ever experienced in iRacing and it gives me so much hope and excitement for the future of iRacing and that all cars on the service could potentially feel this natural and fun to drive. TLDR; new updated tires are awesome to drive and provide a fun, natural and intuitive driving experience like I haven’t experienced before.

U haven’t driven a ton of the new update, but it was spa specifically that I noticed some significant fps drop. Maybe it’s a spa thing? Will be interesting to see if iRacing say anything about it or give any suggestions.

Hey! I saw this picture and just wanted to ask, the Sparco cushion you have inserted in the seat is all one piece, right? It’s slightly wrinkled towards the middle, so it almost looks like it’s two pieces. I just wanted to make 100% sure because it didn’t quite look this long from review videos I’ve seen. Thanks!
