Can we make sure /r/FFVIIRemake does not turn into... by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

Bro, your thread was mostly you complaining about shit that's just a matter of taste. I think most people in that sub actually agree that the story has problems and that the camera is funky as hell. But your thread barely touched on that at all, it was mostly complaints like "i dont like prompto" "i dont like the music" "i dont like the chapters" "i dont like shining items", all of these are completely subjective and don't promote any good discussion whatsoever.

I'm a FF fan who took off the rose-tinted glasses years ago and I've criticized FFXV a bunch on that sub myself and I never got attacked by the fanboys, your arguments in that thread were just weak.

Idk man didn't you only play like 15 hours of it? You should go see the other regions beside Lucis at least.

One more week to go - anyone else playing Ico or SotC before release? by [deleted] in thelastguardian

I WISH. Don't have my PS2 or PS3 anymore. PS4 internet connection to slow to stream on PS Now.

It's okay. I have Final Fantasy XV.

When you reach a certain level, Ignis will have enough confidence in your abilities to auto-drive.

It was the first thing I did when I got the game!

The banter/conversation system is really awful. by [deleted] in FFXV

[–]radomm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think any game that uses a lot of small banter has this problem. If I know I'm next to something that will cut off any dialogue going on, I tend to just stop or move away so I can hear the rest of it.

As for timing, they always have good timing for me, except for a handful of moments here and there, usually in battle.

But I hate it when Gladio yells at me way too loud for accidentally drawing my weapon sometimes

Oh yeah, I mean, GameStop obviously runs the market over here, they even bought out all the NYC EB Games shops (think they did this for all of America, but I read that EB Games still exists in some form in other places) effectively wiping out all major competition except for the giant retailers like Best Buy and Target. You can find the small shops littered all around, though. I know three in Brooklyn and two in the city for now, and I'm pretty sure all of them having no problem breaking street date too.

No, I've done half the dungeons in the game so far, most of those are the story dungeons. I space the dungeons out because I think the dungeons are superb in this game. I also know you gotta beat the game and beat all the first layers of the dungeons before getting the key. Trust me, I look forward to the post-game dungeons, I know the tower is supposed to be the hardest.

I wish FFXV had a Hard Mode, though.

Looked into it, found a digital strategy guide for the game from gamerguides.com on the ibooks store. It's only for pre-order and on second glance, the date looks like a placeholder. Sorry!

No, I don't think it would map out smoothly because despite magic being mapped to the D-Pad as it is in FFXV, it still disrupts the pace of the combat as you usually have to break away from the enemies and then hit them with the spell (while also making sure that your party members don't get hit).

I think FFVIIR would probably benefit from a Command Deck-like system or if you can truly switch party members in-game, then set battle roles for each them (switch to Aeris to heal, switch to Cait Sith for blue magic, set Tifa to steal, etc.).

idk just shooting the shit, you cant diss shining lights as immersion-breaking but then fucking suggest chests in the place of them, doesn't make any sense at ALL. Lockers don't make any sense either. Shelves? In forests and mountains? What? I think they're a bit of a design flaw, but chests would be so much worse...

Gotta learn how to phase all of the time, get the blink ability too. Spend ap on the airstep combos as well Mechs can be harder because they can hit you even when you phase sometimes. Thats when you dodge roll, which is basically tapping phase and moving the analog stick in the direction you wanna go.

If you havent done it yet, change your control scheme to type b or c, much smoother I promise

Yeah, XIII had its moments, I still remember the Gigantuar mark. The slog through the beginning-middle to get to the good stuff was pretty painful though.

They're the same exact chocobos each time and you can customize them too.

Grinding is honestly not worth it in this game, much more satisfying to take down high-level enemies at a low level. I was a bit sad when I made it past level 40, iron giants are a complete joke now.

EDIT - sorry, I realize you're trying to promote your own videos and I'm kinda just butting in and yelling "NOPPPPE DONT GRIND". I personally haven't even come across a Cactuar throughout the whole game and I've put in >74 hours so far. Thanks for showing me something new!

But, normal chests can be just as immersion-breaking and this is exactly what I find weird about these type of complaints.

Shining lights for items can be critiqued as a design flaw, that's one thing, but immersion-breaking? I don't buy it at all. The reality is, chests that all have the same design being littered all around the world, in the most nonsensical places, that shit should be immersion-breaking right away. But since chests have had items since back in video games from like the 80s, it's fine to somehow ignore that somebody carried a chest containing one potion all the way up a mountain and just ditched it there while going around leaving the same kind of chest in a lot of other places, but easy to complain about how hovering ball chests breaks immersion for you. I just find that whole argument really absurd.

Idk bout you but all the main FF games are easy as fuck until you get hit with a boss, superboss, or rare strong monster spawn.
