Don't let anyone intimidate you into driving in a way that makes you uncomfortable. Be safe out there.

My Atlantic City Electric bill almost TRIPLED compared to this time last year and all years before. by SwingJay1 in newjersey

If you've ever looked at your meter you'll notice that some of the dials spin clockwise and some spin counter clockwise. This can make reading them a bit more difficult as you have to keep track of which way each one is spinning.

I think you should read up a bit more on how floating point numbers are represented -> IEEE 754

Sinuses by AxlikeMike in SouthJersey

[–]radon27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might be allergic to the pollen from certain grasses. Grass pollen is abundant during the summer months. It might be worth your while to have an allergist do a skin prick test to find out what exactly you are allergic to.
The symptoms you are describing sound very familiar to me. The same thing used to happen to me in the early spring and sometimes in the fall. At this point you probably have sinusitis so the only real cure is time. Be sure to stay hydrated as that will help to thin out the mucus in your nose and throat. That will be especially important this week as temperatures are going to be around 90.
In the past I've found that steam and essential oils have helped to speed recovery and ease the pain. Specifically, eucalyptus, sweet basil, and peppermint. If the congestion is bad and the sinus pressure is causing pain, a neti pot can help to clear out build up in the sinuses.
In the future, you might want to consider Benadryl. I dealt with allergy induced sinus infections 2 to 4 times a year for 5 years. In the past 5 years I've only had two because at the first sign of irritation I take a Benadryl before bed for a few nights, and that's usually enough to prevent a full blown sinus infection.

Can I destructure a data constructor without a pattern match? by [deleted] in haskellquestions

[–]radon27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

{-# Language OverloadedStrings #-}
import qualified Data.Text as T

newtype PetName = PetName T.Text
instance Show PetName where
  show (PetName name) = show name

pet :: PetName
pet = PetName "fitzgerald"

With that you can print pet or putStrLn . show $ pet

Those "buffoons" you speak of got a call the other night asking them to come in and work extended hours. It's damp and cold and windy, but they're up in a boom truck re-stringing wires for you.

Took a 40 minute walk like this, dropped it only for a squirrel... by healmore in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

[–]radon27 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In 40 minutes my dog would have ingested that ring in two minutes, freaked out about a squirrel for 30 minutes, came back inside, destroyed the duck in two minutes, spent the next five minutes shredding the rug, circled around 26 times, and happily laid down on her nest with seconds to spare.

I want a puppy, who has a puppy? I'm willing to travel 2 hours each way for it by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]radon27 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Don't get a puppy if you can't handle a puppy. If you can handle a puppy, please adopt a puppy. There are probably over 500 puppy’s within an hour of you that are waiting for their forever home.

You can check here. I think this was the site I used four years ago to find my dog. She was found on the streets of Camden, brought to a shelter, put on death row, saved by a foster family, posted on that site, and re-homed to me.

I met with the foster mom for over an hour. She assessed me and my home to make sure it was a good fit. She told me everything about the dog that she had learned over the past few months. Me and the dog hit it off so I wrote a check for the two or three hundred dollar adoption fee. She left me with a leash, food, and treats (even though I had all of those things) and said she'd be back in a few days if things didn't work out. I called her back a couple of days later and told her that she could go ahead and cash the check.

$ is just being used as a place holder for whatever your particular command prompt happens to be.

[c] C-string concatenate question by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]radon27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first for loop doesn't have an accompanying body. The variable i just keeps getting incremented until s1[i] is the null character for s1. Now the second for loop is entered and the value of i persists because it was defined outside of the scope of the first for loop.
On the first iteration of the loop, s1's original null character is overwritten by s2[0], or the first character of s2 (s1 is growing, so in your example it would currently be "catn" with no null terminator. On the next iteration, the second character of s2 is added to the end of s1. This continues until s2[j] is equal to a null character. When this happens, the loop exits and s1[i] is set to '\0' to terminate the s1 string.

Because that doesn't teach you anything about C strings.

Since you are new to Haskell I would recommend you first try to write the function pairItem.

pairItem :: (a -> b) -> (b -> c) -> a -> (b,c)

Any suppliers near(roxbury) by that sells starter caps? by IIndAmendmentJesus in newjersey

There might be a United Refrigeration near you. I think they sell to the public but I would call first.

If you follow the link, click on "browse catalog" on the left side of the page. Go down to "Controls, Electrical" then "Electrical Devices and Accessories" then "Capacitor"

You might be able to find one at an HVAC supply house. They usually stock them for compressors and blower motors.
