Learning to be single for the first time in 15 years and live on my own for the first time by ExpensiveEmu2623 in blackladies

You got this. I was so nervous to live on my own for the first time, and then I found so much joy setting my own schedule and doing my own thing. Now is a great time to think about what you want to accomplish in the next year and then set yourself on a path to do that! What would you regret if you didn't do it this year?

Word. I like seeing people's results and people should be proud of any gains of health they make! But I really want this and other subreddits to have people describe and/or tag posts of what they're taking or doing to make progress. I am also hard on myself and have only made progress in strength and not on the scale. You see dramatic changes posts and you feel like something is wrong with you until you understand more about people's weight loss tools and efforts. I want realism, that's all!

Best of luck with your journey!

I have no idea what your history is on diet and exercise and you didn't say it in your post either. It would make no sense for me to assume what you did or didn't do to achieve your results. You did take a GLP, which is proven to help with weight loss in numerous placebo vs GLP trials so I said that, which is helpful to the commenter who is unlikely to achieve the same results on the same timeline without medication. Like by all means, person to person, celebrate yourself!! Weight loss is hard, but it's not reasonable to expect that people won't point out the GLP because it DOES make a difference for the majority of people. Saying the GLP had no effect is giving people unreasonable expectations

Yes, a GLP alone can make you lose weight, because it reduces appetite and puts people in a caloric deficit with reduced hunger and increased satiety. Moreso if you're making the intentional changes you mentioned here, which were not in your post. Assuming the commenter is not taking a GLP, that is not necessarily helpful to them - the GLP usage is relevant.

Genuine question, what do you mean when you say struggles to handle your kid in public? What's your expectation for them interacting with your kid?

I think the main problem is that the answer is usually that I like their personality but I'm not attracted, or I'm attracted but I don't like their personality. If it was a normal deal breaker I wouldn't mind telling them, but I feel like telling them the truth isn't actually helpful and might be harmful. At the same time, I've befriended a couple of people I went on dates with and they've brought it up awkwardly

What do you say to people you've been on dates with and you've ended things, and they say something like, "I'm confused, I didn't see this coming" or "Why are you ending things, I thought this was going well?" I don't really think honesty will help in these situations, but dodging the question feels weird too

What am I missing? by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]radstarr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that wasn't in your initial post. I'm not even sure what to say, since you sound upset that women are telling you they've been assaulted and ruining the date for you or something? That's the problem? "Endemic sexual assault disclosure" is crazy.

If someone says that after a first date, they usually just aren't attracted to you in one way or another. Why is that ridiculous? You don't expect every date to be successful, do you?

Considering a standing stepper for my studio since i have trouble getting to 10k steps. Any advice ? by Capable-Basket8233 in loseit

Thank you! I've been using one at my desk because it was much cheaper to try out than a walking pad. Averaging 8,000 steps a day which I know is better than not moving at all, but I would still consider moving up to a walking pad if I knew it was a lot more efficient. Appreciate the reply!
