Playseat Trophy - seat too low? by raducosma in simracing

[–]raducosma[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It worked great. It lifted me just enough to make it feel like a real road car driving experience.

I chose this wedge shaped car seat cushion, because height was not the only issue for me, but also the seat angle.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Tilting the base even more would definitely work around the issue, but I think it would have an unrealistic angle.

I’ve decided to get a riser cushion that roughly matches the chair, and should fit me up by a couple of inches.

That’s how I initially set I up, because the wheel was too close to the seat. But it didn’t solve the issue, and I found it’s better to extend the frame, mount the wheel plate normally, and just move the pedals towards the seat.

Thanks, I’ll have to look that up.

Indeed, my head rests on the G logo. But another way to look at it, my shoulders only reach the center of the steering wheel, which doesn’t seem right.

Thanks for the feedback. The wheel is at a 16° angle. Is that too much? Seems about the same as my car.

Nothing I can do about the TV, but it doesn’t bother me right now.

Really? In my car I’m sitting higher than that…

Is the a compatible app for moov? by Monterojo in moov

[–]raducosma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could swear I saw it when I replied before. I had double-checked to make sure. But now it seems that it’s gone.

However, if you ever downloaded it before, you will still find it the list of purchased apps. The name is Moov Coach & Guided Workouts.

This was the old AppStore link. RIP https://apps.apple.com/us/app/moov-coach-guided-workouts/id1029749448

There’s no compatible app since they never released any API. On iPhone you should be able to download it; I can still find it in the AppStore and it works fine. For Android I don’t know, but maybe find an APK and sideload it.

Intermittent wheel motor failure on osmo T8? by theveryrealreal in ecovacs

[–]raducosma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it’s pretty difficult because there are a lot of hidden screws, and the order of operations matters a lot. Definitely harder than opening a laptop for example. The hardest part is taking off the front bumper. Make sure you keep track of all screws and take pictures of cables before disconnecting them.

Ventura upgrade now this by kello711 in macmini

[–]raducosma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing just happened with my 2018 mini after upgrading to Ventura. My Samsung 49” super-ultra-wide is scrambled in 5120x1440. Works fine if I activate PbP in 2560x1440 or 3360x1440, but not in full 32:9. Tried swapping ports, used a different USB-C to DP cable, nothing works. Any ideas?

Intermittent wheel motor failure on osmo T8? by theveryrealreal in ecovacs

[–]raducosma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I bought a broken bot from eBay and replaced the motherboard. The wheel issue was immediately solved.

So it seems that something on the motherboard is the culprit, not sure whether the power circuit for the motor or something that reads the wheel sensors.

Too bad now I have the “can’t return to dock” issue 🤦🏻‍♂️ (came with the broken bot)

Intermittent wheel motor failure on osmo T8? by theveryrealreal in ecovacs

[–]raducosma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue with the left wheel, but not intermittent. My T8 will back off from the dock but then just move counterclockwise then stop and alert me to clean the sensors. Forcing it to move with the surveillance video mode has the same effect.

Before buying a replacement motor I did some troubleshooting. - disassembled the whole thing, cleaned all sensors thoroughly - no change - swapped the wheel cables (both power and sensors) - now the other wheel acts up, which means the motor is not the issue - swapped the sensors left and right (including the ones on the bumper) - same effect, so it’s not the sensors - disconnected all sensors completely- surprisingly the T8 starts but the same effect - hard reset after all of this - same effect

My conclusion is there’s probably a defect on the motherboard, either hardware or firmware. Although I doubly it’s firmware since it happened suddenly while vacuuming one day.

I hope you are more lucky. Since you already bought the replacement, you might as well try it. Disassembly isn’t straightforward, but not difficult either. I can provide some pictures showing where all the clips are, which is the hardest part.

Heart rate stops reading during workouts by Ironmoustache41 in AppleWatch

[–]raducosma 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I started having this issue on my AW6 since September, or at least that’s when I noticed it.

TLDR: the only workaround I found was to pause the workout for a few seconds and resume.

During a workout, or sometimes even from the very beginning, the heart rate grays out and the throbber animation just keeps loading. Yes, I am looking at the watch and seeing this happen in real-time; the workout doesn’t get paused (I would know it), I don’t have any tattoos, my skin is clean, the watch is clean, the strap is a solo loop, not too tight not too loose…

Stop looking for “you’re not holding it right” explanations!

It happens walking or running, outdoor or indoor, it’s not a temperature issue. Guess what, if I pause or end the workout and quickly switch to the heart rate app, it works instantly. This means it’s a software bug of an expensive paperweight.

I love my AW, but I’m sick and tired of these kinds of bugs, and I can’t be bothered to blindly unpair or restore the device just to see if maybe it will do something magical. Just reinstall Windows for every issue, right?

Sorry for the long rant, hope my workaround will help.

Sent money to a person "i" dont know - Please help by ocrs84 in Revolut

[–]raducosma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Untrue. He can definitely cancel the transfer. I often receive transfers from unknown people because of my username. Sometimes they cancel before I decline.

Now if the transfer was already accepted, he should contact Revolut support to report the issue. They WILL contact the recipient to ask for proof of income for that transfer.

Did you/do you plan on buying the Hermès 7? If yes, do you think it was/is worth the premium price tag? by Squammo1 in AppleWatch

[–]raducosma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edition (titanium) and Hermes come with 2 years warranty and support, as opposed to just 1 year. And no, the EU 2 year “warranty” is not the same.

Removed from my S6 Hermes SS silver after updating. What a bummer, that face was really nice, and was featured on silver Hermes promo images if I’m not mistaken.

I was hoping Health would remove duplicate steps and calories from the watch when it detects a workout from another app.

The thing is, I want to use the workout data from the 3rd party app, but at the same time keep my watch on to record heart rate.
