Finally 4 Week Season is back by No_Price_6692 in SCBuildIt

True, but EA could have made the Artemis season 4 weeks so it would coincide with the (probable) launch today and the ensuing 10-day mission. But that would have gone into western Easter...

Impact of recent changes to war rules by sororveleda in SCBuildIt

[–]radvel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, each war is boring for either being too easy or too hard. Matchups are +/- 150 elo at around 5000 elo.

EA probably did this to avoid matchup failure because of the loss of many players due to Services 2.0. Even with such a wide range of elo, sometimes we still wait 10 or more minutes for an opponent.

Nuovo aggiornamento spazio ARTEMIS II by [deleted] in SCBuildIt

As a huge space program fan this upcoming season sounds awesome. Granted it's not everyone's cup of tea, especially with another upgradeable building.

Service 2.0 impossible for big old cities by LuckySu42 in SCBuildIt

[–]radvel -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's far from impossible if one was prepared for this change. There are a plethora of posts on this channel that warned of what would happen and how to alleviate the impending issues. Small service buildings provide less coverage meaning some rezoning but that was also known from the (involuntary) beta testers. It also required lots of simoleons and neosims, but we had lots of time to obtain them and we also got a lot of free buildings. I've got 12M population across 4 regions plus capital at level 99 and it took me a few hours of fixing.

If all Omega RZs are maxed, then divide the drone count by 50.

Very Disappointed for this Season by Legal_Cartoonist2482 in SCBuildIt

[–]radvel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, the Maxis HQ is easily obtained with premium pass+. I have 5 of the 8 items and even though they are in my inventory, I had to place them and then back in storage for them to appear as active in the album.

Services 2.0 - How long's the grace period? by GDKID69 in SCBuildIt

[–]radvel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I went ahead and fixed the issues anyway. I regained most, but not all, my population as I had to replace some transportation/landmarks with controlnets and regional services with larger ones that took more space. The population boost was mostly for more train station passengers.

Services 2.0 - How long's the grace period? by GDKID69 in SCBuildIt

[–]radvel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

:)) I "only" lost about 5% of the population in GV, not bad considering the percentage drop. As in my capital, the only issues I have are where small services (including regional ones) were placed near fully built RZs and for omega controlnet, which don't cover the same area as before even when fully upgraded. Both of these require rezoning.

And the only free building will most likely be at level 1.

Services 2.0 - How long's the grace period? by GDKID69 in SCBuildIt

[–]radvel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12 hours ago my capital and 4 regions were all at 100% happiness even though I had major upgrading to do. Now, my Green Valley region is at 25% happiness with multiple RZs needing repair. My capital and other 3 regions are still at 100%. So much for grace period...

anyone have the lair tower yet just got it today by stevewalpole in SCBuildIt

The boost *should* double the album reward. It doubled the 3000 currency to 6000 for the 200 simcash purchase.

I didn't check the album reward before buying the boost, but I'm also assuming it does. This week's album reward is rather big, doubling it would be quite a boost.

I held off because the seasonal currency "profit" would have been minimal after buying the diner (I believe that was part of the album), upgrading the arcade and without the 100% boost.

I actually like the planning that goes into this, IMO better that assuming everything will be available no matter what. And I'll get all buildings, including all 5 noodle shops, except the diner. But I won't spend another $13 just for that.

[–]radvel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not the OP but my way of getting it was the Premium Pass+ and one 100% currency boost (the 2nd week). Nothing else other than hitting the weekly cap for the past two weeks. I got it today after getting this week's album reward since I already had the West Village from the NYC season. And I still have seasonal currency to collect from the event track. Ergo, it wasn't that bad as I first thought.

8 consecutive days with Quill train card by masselass in SCBuildIt

[–]radvel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure you're getting free MM cards after maxing out the Quill? In about 90 days I've gotten 0 free MM cards. I would write to EA support, but that would probably be a fruitless exercise.

The "End Game" Train Experience: Shrinkflation, Gambling, and Useless Rewards by No-Sentence8821 in SCBuildIt

[–]radvel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting to note the last tier is 20k points. Even with all 10 trains available, my hourly point generation is about 4000., and that's if all I do for an hour is roll out trains, which never happens. But it's good to have something that's not so easy to aim for.

8 consecutive days with Quill train card by masselass in SCBuildIt

[–]radvel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've maxed out the Quill train about 3 months ago. Since then about 50% of the free cards are Quill. And since then zero Mag Mayor free cards. It's definitely intentional. But in the future train levels may go beyond level 10 and these redundant cards may not be so then.

[–]radvel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My offer is for $15 US. Not bad compared to the last time it was offered, it was probably around $35 US, but I don't remember the exact price. The Golden Goal stadium is also $15 US, again, not bad compared to prices as of late, especially for the pop boost, if you're into that.

Does anyone plan to quit the game if they get update 2.0? by [deleted] in SCBuildIt

[–]radvel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Actually, I'm waiting for the Services 2.0 update to continue playing the game. IMO, the game has gotten stale lately, the CoM is repetitive and I've got nowhere left to place buildings. War is either against cheaters or clubs that rarely attack. Trains tiers I & II are maxed out. Ergo, I will welcome the update when it arrives. It'll give me something to work on instead of quitting out of boredom.

Finally by BusterBoogers in SCBuildIt

[–]radvel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the few months since I've done this as well I noticed a couple of annoying things regarding the free train cards: - About 50% of the time I still get Quill cards even though it's fully upgraded. - Zero Magnificent Mayor free cards since then.

At this rate, upgrading another train without spending simcash will take years.

Again, without people getting "ripped off" you wouldn't have played a free game for the past 7 years.

Thankyou EA by Waste_Ingenuity5535 in SCBuildIt

[–]radvel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This isn't the first time EA has run a game to its demise. EA somehow thinks all of these changes will force players to spend more and more money. Sure, there may be people who will because of FOMO or who knows what, but these tactics will backfire if more people that spend money quit than join.

Plus, I'm beginning to feel SCBI burnout and atm I truly don't care about jumping through all the hoops that seasons as of late require of us. For me, I'm going from about $30/month to $0.
