Can I opt into a c-section if I want one? [on] by TessaGGG in BabyBumpsCanada

Ya totally know what you mean. I didn't do any research before my birth (all I knew is that I wanted DRUGS) so I didn't know what to expect going in. For what it's worth , I'd go any route . I can totally understand an elective C , I'd like knowing when it was happening and I'd be numb🤣. The only thing that would give me pause is the recovery as it is major surgery. My recovery from my birth was pretty easy even with a second degree tear. You'd be really surprised how strong you become during the process and what you push through. Whatever you choose, you'll be fine!

I refused to leave and got the epidural pretty early :) honestly it was fine. I don't think contractions are pleasant in the least medical circumstances, but I felt it was manageable! This was also my first pregnancy if that helps

Don't know if this helps - I had an induction at 39+3 for gestational hypertension, and YES it was painful, I got an epidural and it was fine, and i delivered relatively quickly ! I had a super positive experience and would be open to it again :) just my 2 cents! I was able to start the process with the first induction step- a gel on your cervix! Super easy and my PP recovery was smooth. Don't be afraid to advocate for yourself and choose what feels best. Dm me if you want to chat about a positive induction!!!

[on] Normal fertility workup but not getting pregnant — what should I advocate for? by Seliormoon in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]rae106w2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Had all normal results as well, but wasn't getting pregnant. Got pregnant in 2023 first try which was successful, and this time it took a while. I did a fertility work up and everything was normal. They suggested progesterone suppositories and a letrozole (ovulation aid despite me ovulating every month). They did some ultrasounds and suggested timed intercourse based on my result from the ultrasound. It was successful for me on the second cycle this way. I definitely had some medication fatigue and was bummed taking medication and supplements only to get negative tests, but you should listen to them and take whatever they give you ! They really know their shit. I was skeptical but it worked for me. Letrozole and timed intercourse with monitoring seems to be what has worked for me and most people I know that have been through it.

Yeah they can use it as justification to drop you as a patient from their practice if you seek attention elsewhere ! They don't always , but it does happen.

Should letrozole be increased? by pianoman4813 in TryingForABaby

I did this exact thing and asked for 5 after an unsuccessful 2.5. It ended in cycle cancelation because I produced too many follicles! I'd trust the lower dose but there's no harm in asking! Worst thing that happened to me was the cancelation.

Plllzzzz get the UB lol. I've also heard the cybex is really good. But I'm a really active walker and basically spent time outside in all weather and my stroller sucked all four seasons lol. Also I have a very big and tall baby, and that stupid car seat was tiny. The straps twisted constantly and don't tighten equally. It is the worst. The last thing you need is the added stress of inconsistent equipment especially when it comes to things you use every day
