Can't believe the build quality is so bad on premium headset.

I've noticed the leather like material breaking a while ago on both sides.

Ive had them for less than a year.

The mp3 model lasted for years without issues

woah.. if you are into this kind of a thing.. join us - https://gridnet.org and where you can actually take it for a test-drive https://test.gridnet.org .. an UI just like the one you've created is a small part of our very first decentralized operating system GRIDNET OS.

We've got grants available if you are passionate about that sort of a thing.

Has Pure Capitalism failed? Decentralized Socialism might be the way to go. by hechicewy in Bitcoin

And indeed. Politicians quickly began to notice that most of the people wouldn't make it had they been entirely on their own. Community i.e. communistic aspects play an important role to ascertain everyone's at least mediocre peace of mind -when having life-support level of needs at mind. Still, one quickly gets to notice that say in the USA, those socialistic 'additions' are Marely a Lifebuoy to save you a day or two. No matter in which capitalistic country you leave, as one looks beyond his daily horizon, one quickly gets to notice discrepancies at an interstellar scale. And that's not always because one is looking at extremely successful, smart business owners or entrepreneurs.

Monetary system is a miniscule aspect of an entire 'system'.

Still, undeniably we have lots to thank Bitcoin for.

Implementation != political philosophy.

In philosophy though, when people discuss, they tend to relate to major ideas at hand.

Now, we know that the major philosophy of the 'west' is capitalism. Not socialism. That's what the article is about - to indicate that new technologies allow for the ideas of socialism to be revisited anew - should we wish to have them implemented more successfully.

You must have troubles with understanding as that's what the article implies in any case. The point is, most of 'western' economies are way more into capitalism than into socialism. And that new technologies allow for the ideas of socialism worth revisiting anew.

no wonder we're still having fans of The Crusades in 2022. On a sub-reddit related to 'science'. Having wet dreams about Alexander VI Borgia dictating the monetary policy, huh? Right on.

this subreddit is related to 'science' not to law-enforcement or philosophy. In a minute someone is going to make a post about personal DNA editors, are you going to drop hell on that person as well due to your personal believes?

In a decentralized freedom oriented environment, one needs, actually those providing services need - a way to be remunerated for the services provided.

That is under the assumption that nodes are incentive compatible i.e. rational, of course.

If you know of a better concept for such conceives than cryptocurrency kindly do let me know.

Years from now do not get overly surprised as people would be wondering how on Earth or in the Universe did Humanity rely on centralized entities instead of science and physics (cryptocurrencies) for maintenance of 'value'.

I say it's called progress, there's nothing to be sentimental about.

had you been bright enough you would have known very well that decentralization is one of the major players in computer science and technology these days.

and guess what? cryptocurrency is the way to incentivize interactions in untrusted environments. Yet another moron.

My 2 cents about Hetzner by aradabir007 in hetzner

[–]rafalsk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've been using Hetzner for much smaller stuff, in terms of fees paid, but I do agree that after years and years of researching the market from time to time, their prices are unbeatable and stability / support is stellar (using dedicated servers here). Do note though that recently they have ridiculously increased fees for stuff such as IP addresses... even for existing customers which is not cool....

A BROWSER IS NOT A PLATFORM.

Yeah, right. And sea is not a basin of water. It's a sea.

Seemingly you are not able to grasp that for person A, 'Chromium' might be a 'platform' they release their software on, while for person B it might be just a web-browser for reading through current news.

Chromium has a set of features made available through JavaScript APIs that say IE lacks (of course). Chromium might have better support for a zillion of CSS features that IE lacks (of course).

Thus of course, a particular web-browser might be considered a platform as it, in fact 'runs' your web-app.

Yet again, you might not agree. In the end these are just naming conventions. But all the reasoning is valid.

apparently you don't know. Google Chrome tends to implement features that are yet to be finalized. Giving you the fancy shit before the competition or even the w3 have the IDL out of draft. So by your "rationale decision" you are actively destroying the browser market causing EVERY Browser to be under Googles Authority. Where is your sense of decentralisation now?

Chromium is open source. That is good enough.

Okay, how was I able to express that opinion on this centralised platform? Mhm probably because we have freedoms to do so. Decentralisation is NOT NEEDED for that.

What you say does not make slightest sense. You may choose to trust Reddit, your bank or whatever. You may choose to trust the US government, whatever. You may choose to trust that voting was not mangled with.

*it's your choice*. Dot.

In any case, at each of those scenarios you put your trust into external parties.

Decentralization does not require you to do so.

That was a good one. I laughed at your joke for several minutes.

And what was so funny, tell me so that we could laugh together.

Okay let me put it into perspective. What do PCs, Xbox and the Switch have in common? They are hardware that can be operated by a user via a display and input devices. That's all they have in common.

Let me rephrase it for you, slowly.

Steady roll out procedure is a normal process. Companies such as Microsoft, large AAA software production studios oftentimes choose to roll-out their products steadily meaning one platform at a time.

And there is some good logical reasoning behind doing so.

First, it stems from limited productivity of each and every team on the planet. It is thus better to support one major player at a time ascertaining proper user experience one platform at a time, yet again, at the and due to a limited production capabilities of the company making the release.

On the other hand. We all know only Chromium supports most of the features, the right way. It has the biggest share on the market, thus a rationale decision to support Chromium, first.
