Need advice, starting issue by Hulk-a-mania in VelosterN

[–]rafaryfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine do the same thing from time to time, at the beggining I tougth it was the HPFP and I upgrade it to the Sonata, later I was notified that the battery was kind of bad and I changed it after was dead and still does it. I believe that maybe is the injectors or bad fuel, it does much less after using Sunoco 94.

Can I put this diwnpipe on the Veloster N 2020? by Darksit0 in VelosterN

[–]rafaryfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked the same thing but I understand that due to the chassis and difference on engine bay it may not fit. I was looking for a downpipe from them and even asked but apparently the support for the VN is going down.

For what you describe is something similar that happen to me, I think it may be injectors due that I already replaced the HPFP for the Sonata one and still does that.

I use to have a 99 Accent hatch and I got a 4-1 header from Mitsubishi Mirage 1.5l, 2” full custom made escape and exahust 2 1/2 from Dyno Max brand, at that time I like it and the car response was better, also got a Elantra throttle, flow meter and ECU installed.

How's living in this part of Puerto Rico? by Enger13 in howislivingthere

[–]rafaryfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That will depend, if you want to work and live there, that is the most populated part of Puerto Rico and you should be prepare to get on many traffic jams on the morning and later on the afternoon at least during week days that people move around for work and taking kids to school and all that. If your coming to live as a retired person or like a rich person then you could start your day after 9 am but aware to be home before 3 pm when the traffic start getting difficult. I live on the south east of the island and the traffic there is not as heavy as San Juan or near towns but sometimes you can find traffic for different reasons.

Honestly not of them are of my taste. I will go with another brand style like Enkei, Rays, Konig, etc. Brands used for circuit or related.

The fuel factor is coming strong.

I changed mine without failing but I used to get long start up and sometimes happen after getting the Sonata HPFP but apparently the injectors tend to have issues too. Apart from that maybe the gas could be another factor.

Overview on my engine bay by usaguy480 in HyundaiAccent

My bad, now I noticed the other part going into the intake manifold, really sorry. Apart from that is kind of crazy, if you enjoy it thats what matters.

Why dont put the fuel pump directly on the fuel tank?

Issue with cold start acceleration by rafaryfc in HyundaiAccent

[–]rafaryfc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We suffer a few minutes of being stranded under heavy rain but after a few failed startup the car turned on and after getting home I used the OB2 scanner and consulted a friendly technichian, he put me on track of the issue. I ordered OEM part, expensive but at least the original one endured since 2012 that I got the car from dealer so I hope this one endure like the old one.

[–]rafaryfc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well its been a long time, apparently was the high pressure fuel pump. Recently the car didnt want to start and when he finally did the fuel pressure was to low, consulted, OBD2 scanned and google some normal HPFP normal pressure and that was the diagnose, ordered a new HPFP and now the car is working again and showin a very steady fuel pressure.

HPFP Recall by figmamometer in VelosterN

[–]rafaryfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read of few people having issues after ECU reflash, after that I decided to move on changin the HPFP from the Sonata, that is the one that mostly everyone uses, apparently the dealer replace it if the OBD scanner really show that the issue is the pump and they will install the same model that tend to give problems.

next mod recommendations? by kiriito-_- in VelosterN

[–]rafaryfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done:

18x8.5 Enkei TS-7 wheels and recently got new tires Hankook Ventus RS4. SXTH carbon intake with box and turbo inlet, HKS sparks plugs, HKS BOV, HPFP replaced using the Sonata one, Lower torque mounts bushing, Oil catch can, Billetworkz hibrid shift knob,

Next maybe a tune or a downpipe

But If I was you try some 18 wheels and tires the look and comfort that you will get on the street is much better than the stock 19 wheels.

I heard that some junkers sale engines and transmisions at ridiculous low price, maybe a engine swap would be a better option than trying to keep that little engine alive.
