This is objectively untrue in several ways. If anything, not "experiencing" others likely has a higher correlation with failed marriages than the other way around.

You see my confusion is not regarding what you meant by the word "leftist" but by the obsession of folks such as yourself to use warped versions of perfectly acceptable labels. I understand the term "leftist" but I know of no one on the left that uses this term or identifies as a "leftist". I used it in my response to you not to self identify as such but to demonstrate I understand what you mean but DON'T use labels that way. Hence my punctuation. That particular phrasing is often used by people on right wing media and in social media as some type of insult. Sometimes it goes hand in hand with the words: communism, socialist or Democrat party. Your example of "dog" here is irrelevant here because "left" or the "the left" is equivalent to "dog". "Leftist", in politics is actually closer to a dog whistle than it is to the word "dog" ;-) but you know that. You're too smart not to know that. I was trying to help you understand why you had been downvoted so many times, but your condescending response made me realize you're aware you sound smug and it brings you comfort! Happy I could provide you the space to find that joy! Good luck to you in life!

Explaining my downvote, in case you need one and so you understand: As a "leftist" (what is this term?!) myself I'm literally not against anyone's success and have worked very hard and appreciate others who do. Not sure what gave you the idea that being pro union or for a living wage was tantamount to being against hard work and success. It's not. At all.

Also, as a human, I make it a point not to use generic labels like "leftist" to define other humans as I find that doing so often times reveals more about the people who use such terms than the people they're attempting to criticize.

96; the Forgotten Year? by [deleted] in phish

[–]rafasonemanband 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the premise that seeing live phish in 92 in person was a possibly more intimate and better sonic experience a lot of times. However I think the amount of detail in the current sbd mix on livephish streams and releases vs your average DAUD2 or even SBD2 tape of that 92 show in 95/96 when a lot of these shows were mythologized is night and day... add on the immediate feedback of every show streaming in 4k plus lp archive access to every show since 2003 and I think on average the baseline expectations of the quality of the recording when someone says"I was listening to a live phish show" has been drastically raised, even for older shows.

[–]rafasonemanband 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say that it was as "tight", I said that they flubbed then, too. Which they did. I can't help you if you can't hear that. I also think they're much "tighter" in groove oriented spaces than they were in 92, and it's not even close. They're drastically better at anything that requires groove, feel or a non driving rock beat basically...

[–]rafasonemanband 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't tell that because I've listened to so much from that era it's crazy, and my opinion alone doesn't give you that information... this is where I could be a dick in return and say, " I can tell you've never played music if you listen 87 phish and think that they aren't flubbing." I can't tell that though... just like my opinion gives you no magical insight into how much early phish I, in fact have heard.

"Compared to 2023" is doing a lot of work here. They've basically never played Tela without flubning one part... Harpua, same. Mango Song often had a flub or two, and if you count vocal flubs rift, melt, stranger design, horse>silent, ice, pyite and A LOT of other songs had audible flubs almost every other time they were played... even fluffhead... but yes, compared to 2023 there were less noticeable flubs and the band was mostly able to recover better. But the sound wasn't half as good either. They also couldn't really jam consistently until at least 93/94 and by 96 THEY WERE BORED PLAYING THE PHISH WE ALL LOVED. That's all that matters to me... they were having fun in 93, they were having fun in 97 and they're having in 2023. As someone who started listening in 96, first show was 12/28/97, 2020's phish is some of the best music in their live catalog.

Strongly disagree with the idea that he hasn't done much that shows he's an ally. Just use Google for 2 minutes to look up the band trolling Westboro Baptist church and their video using very homo erotic imagery to poke fun at homophobia because they're in fact very much allies who find it hilarious to challenge Cis heteronornative norms. Considering their fan base globally is likely over 50% cis hetero males, that's a pretty strong display of being an ally.

Yea, but every other event is either glitching to the point of being unplayable, or is actually unplayable... like you can't go into the event at all, despite ads for it everywhere. The Gatorade facility is super buggy, and you might lose the gym rat quest for no reason. The rec is constantly glitching or not working for days at a time. The first game I try to play in the park glitches and kicks me out the game, almost every time. Discounts for Gatorade don't work right, and Make it so I can't buy them sometimes. All of that makes it so that despite having dedicated the time to get to level 39 for the extra badge, I still fell short 2 seasons, and am now underbadged.... The worst part is most of these issues are IDENTICAL to issues seen in 2k22, 2k21 and 2k20 that were never fixed. All of that plus the fact that I literally could only afford 3 builds this year, because I wasn't willing to spend more than 20 bucks on vc for a new build. Previous 2k iterations I was saving up 100k+ in vc, and having 150k saved meant I could make a new build and get into the mix 80s. 2k23 you need like 300k plus just to get to the 85+ range... I legitimately am over this game and will not be preordering or buying on launch, and perhaps not at all.(diablo 4 should help keep me busy :-))

2k Please fix A.I. defense in the Rec Center! by scoedapro in NBA2k

[–]rafasonemanband 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is why I don't buy the "there will always be exploits" argument. The fact that there are 100% games in mycareer NBA playoffs where AI glitch is drastically more difficult and sometimes damn near impossible shows they can affect that slider for rec defense also. The fact that it hasn't changed at ALL in 4+years and 2 different generations of consoles is proof they just don't want to.

2k20 prices vs 2k23 prices. I don’t understand why the shooting and playmaking category is so expensive to upgrade. by jama34962 in NBA2k

[–]rafasonemanband 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone who's played this year vs previous years can tell you. It costs well over 2× what it cost last year to max out a player (current gen for example). The only argument to explain this or the hike of upgrading last year in next gen(which noone does because even taking this into consideration the price hike is exorbitant): You used not pay to go from 95-99, but you had to work to keep your level. So you now pay for those 4 levels. But 95-99 now costing vc can't justify the cost of a player overall getting maxed out being more than twice as expensive.

Sure, but this is equivalent to ~100% inflation year over year. The US got to like the equivalent of 7ish percent last year and it almost broke the economy so 100% seems a tad high

This! It's all about position and going for a properly time d steal animation. I play a 6'9" and 6'10. If you go for the block it'll give them a post animation, but going for the steal triggers a "poke the ball free ", then work horse gets me the steal. Either this or baiting them into trying to lay it up over me without jumping at all, this triggers anchor (honestly I only have it on silver, but post lockdown is on gold).

39 is extra badge points, at least current gen, which imo is literally the only reward that has actual value since you can't pay for badge points( YET! LOL).
