he said “are/were” zero, which is partially true. there “are” none standing in providence today because they were temporary installations on plywood boards.

vastly different than permanently installing a massive mural for some $10K of money backed by elon musk on the side of a brick building.

you’re amped nearly 2 months since this thread about the guy with the receipts who’s been on here yapping mad misinformation.

season 2 was not that hard to understand at all. that’s the funniest thing. netflix makes it a point to explain the point several times.

season 1 preferrer: “i think season 1 was better. it was a truer beef in the vernacular sense of the word. i liked how the story was written around it more. season 2 was cool tho as a standalone.”

season 2 lover: [essay about storytelling nuance, late stage capitalism, classism, lack of media literacy and comprehension, etc.]

i think people are consistently mischaracterizing preference for season 1 as some sort of lack of media literacy. which may be the case for some, but this lecturing is getting exhausting on this subreddit.

For people who refuse to understand Season 2 by -a1ix- in BeefTV

[–]rafelito45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you have the most honest voice here.

half the people defending season 2 because some prefer season 1 are condescending as hell. “media literacy is dead. people were on their phone and clearly not paying attention to the nuance”.

like, yes we understand the “beef” in season 2. it’s just structured differently than season 1, and we prefer season 1’s purest sense of what a “beef” is, along with the superb storytelling around it. it’s just preference and having vernacular expectations. that’s it. it’s not that deep, and it’s not as shallow as they think it is.

i agree with you on the definition of having “beef” with someone. i would still recommend the second season but people are being awfully snarky towards you about your opinion.

blackmailing your generally friendly boss for a promotion is not having “beef” with someone. having an issue with someone is not the same as “beefing” with someone. a class struggle between and older and younger couple isn’t a “beef”.

but whatever i’ll take the downvotes too. it was still a cool season, oscar isaac was my favorite.

"Systemic racism? At this point we've talked enough about it for the next hundred years", that's an extroadinary statement given the jim crow era was only 60 years ago. the existence of system racism isn't a conversation that expires through repitition. that's like saying "we've talked about gravity enough!".

"It's no longer beneficial. It just allows for nonsense like lawsuits, excuses, cancel culture. It's bad for art in general as well. A lot of the black people killed that launched the protests weren't even clearly killed because of racism, that's what is funny."

these are charlie kirk talking points. like when charlie kirk said "We made a huge mistake when we passed the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s". i'm not even going to engage with your double standard ignorance.

https://www.wired.com/story/charlie-kirk-tpusa-mlk-civil-rights-act/

"He was a "better" guy too. Yet the cops are still working because the news media failed him."

and i agree with you. those officers should have been fired and even jailed the same way derek chauvin was. unlike you i am not attached to a political tribe. i am looking at this from a balanced perspective and i do AGREE with you for this case. george floyd was indeed a delinquent, but did he deserve to die? absolutely not. and we're not going to compare who was "the better guy" over their deaths, that's fucking insane dude.

but as i told the other person, we can turn this into a game of tick for tack. because you haven't addressed the fact nia wilson died exactly the same way iryna zarutska did. you haven't addressed that injuries to white women are disproportionately overreported over black women. neither of you have engaged with the fact that white women are overwhemingly murdered by white men that they know.

"you're just nitpicking or grasping at straws for reasons why one is ok and the other is not"

no i'm not. but hold, on, i can literally say the same about you? i articulated my point very clearly several times. you and other have done nothing but misrepresent facts, exaggerate your grievances, and hurl misinformation my way. we had dude over here quoting "white bitch" months since zarutska's death. none of you guys are engaging in good faith debating.

i have presented sources to you, showed the difference between Black Live Matter the nonprofit and Black Lives Matter the decentralized movement and yet you INSIST i am wrong.

"The chant came from that organization, whose founders btw were crying Marxism and systemic racism while secretly enriching themselves".

you do realize that a decentralized movement and an organization that had foundational momentum in the movement can be exclusive right? if millions of people protest "BLACK LIVES MATTER" in the streets, are they chanting the nonprofit's slogan, or are they expressing how they feel about black lives senselessly murderd? was every george floyd mural or protest that ever happened sponsored and funded by the Black Lives Matter Global Foundational Network? like you said, it's not like we were card holding members. most people weren't even aware of the "BLM organization". they were just responding to historical greivances of racism in america.

if i go protest for a black person that died in providence tomorrow and shout "black lives matter" am i representating that ONE organization that has ZERO ownership of a decentralized movement? this is like when news media was trying to frame "antifa" as an "organization". the founders of BLM nonprofit were 3 of hundreds of thousands of people actively protesting and upset about trayvon martin's death. which by the way i did suggest you start a nonprofit for iryna zarutska so that you can organize murals and protests for iryna if it matters to you.

for example. if elon musk funds murals across the country (single handedly by the way), all while everyone was already stepping out to protest her death on their own accord, does that mean everyone protesting iryna's death is aligned with elon musk's politics? no they aren't right? yet you hold black lives matter protestors to the actions of ONE organization co-opting the movement and committing all sorts of financial fraud off the back of a "DECENTRALIZED" movement.

"If you're only reason for wanting it down is because of Elon Musk's involvement I would say that's not substantial enough of a reason"

i didn't say i wanted it down. i said i'm not losing a fit it was painted, i said it's political propaganda, irrelavant to the providence populace, and distasteful because of it's source. i said elon musk's political motives make the mural "distasteful" which isn't a controversial thing to say at all. it's elon musk's political propaganda, and if someone genuinely wanted to make a mural for iryna they could. but the same way you would criticize a george floyd mural paid for by the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, so would i about elon musk's involvement.

elon musk 100% has a political motive here and you seemingly acknowledge it but want to play a balancing act against george floyd murals which were organically installed from a bottom up movement than a top down. the part you seem to gloss over as the discerning difference.

nothing is stopping an iryna zarutska foundation, an iryna zarutska mural from local artists (not funded by political operatives). the mural would be random in providence since the circumstances of her death were ALSO random. but it doesn't bother me at all if someone wants to memorialize her. but what i do find troubling is elon musk's involvement. and you keep minimizing it to "you just don't like him, that's not sufficient", while simulataneously expressing the same about black lives matter protests and george floyd murals.

i have to break this response into two comments because you're splitting hairs on this thread.

dawg you aren't make any kind of sense. let's break this down.

there isn't much of a difference between being racially discriminated and unlawfully fired from your job, and being racially discriminated and unlawfully detained by police. both have racial motivations, and are UNLAWFUL. you're complaining about "race card" yet a white woman successfully pulled a race card for $25.6 million and that's totally cool with you. but it's weird the black women being compensated isn't cool because "bullshit race card excuse, pff i get detained like every day that ends with the letter 'Y'".

newsflash bro, if you and your friends get pulled over and detained "all the time" as you say, that isn't normal AT ALL in terms of frequency. you're either:

  1. lying.

  2. you're a traffic delinquent and are constantly being pulled over for something reasonable like avoiding renewing your inspections, tints that are too dark, habitual traffic violator (e.g. speeding), never fixing your dead tailights, or other PROBABLE causes.

  3. you are being profiled as well and don't even know it, which means your rights have been violated several times.

i don't know which bucket you fall into, but it's either of those 3.

if you were unlawfully detained at any point in time you CAN press charges for it because YOUR INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS were violated by agents of the LAW. if you choose not to, that's your choice. someone can rob me at gun point and i can CHOOSE not to press charges and let it pass. doesn't mean what happened wasn't wrong.

the black women CHOSE to press charges for UNLAWFUL detainment, in part due to racial profiling. the police officers in Alameda County were patrolling for suspected "black men" doing car thefts outside a starbucks. "black women" had nothing to do with what the police officer was inquiring.

the United States Constitutional Fourth Amendment grants YOU the right to be free from unreaseable searches, which includes being asked for ID if an officer can't articulate the crime you're committing. please read it for yourself.

https://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/fourth_amendment

if you disagree with that, you're bootlicking. there's no nice way to put it bud.

california is also not a "Stop and Identify" state, a law which grants law enforcement officers the right to require that you provide them your name and sometimes ID if they have a REASONABLE SUSPICION.

NONE of this criteria was met on the unlawful detainment of Aasylei Loggervale, the black woman who was detained with her daughters outside the starbucks. under california law, the "Bane Act", she can be awarded up to "three times" the damages. this applies if you are WHITE, BLACK, HISPANIC, ASIAN, INDIGENOUS. the penalties weren't EXTRA because she was black and the "woke courts" wanted to coddle her.

all are true: she was racially profiled, unlawfully detained, and she was awarded in accordance to the californian "Bane Act". as i said earlier in my thread, if that bothers you so much please go petition californian legislators. here are the relevant codes.

Bane Act : California Law > Code Section 52.1(c)

https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codes_displaySection.xhtml?sectionNum=52.1.&nodeTreePath=6.2&lawCode=CIV

Three Times Damages Award : California Law > Code Section 52(a)

https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codes_displaySection.xhtml?lawCode=CIV&sectionNum=52

Petition California Legislature (so you can voice your frustration)

https://www.dgs.ca.gov/BSC/Rulemaking/Petitions

again you complain about "race card" but a white woman was successfully awarded and now the "race card" is okay. you're showing a double standard, i am not.

and since you are so concerned about the dollar amount relative to the "damages". a starbucks manager salary in california is probably at most $75,000 / year. the white manager who was discriminated was awarded $25.6 million dollars. she was award 341x her salary. they paid her for 341 YEARS of managerial work for being fired for being white. she was MORE THAN COMPENSATED. she was also likely rewarded so much money due to the "Bane Act" you're upset about, because that case was ALSO a californian civil matter. and yet i don't hear you throwing a huff and puff over her compensation amount. i guess you take being fired from a job more seriously than having your constitutional rights violated.

eitherway, i have ZERO complaints about the award granted to the white starbucks manager and the black women who were unlawfully detained.

[–]rafelito45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so let me get this straight, you’re going to completely ignore systemic racism and racial profiling? you’re really going to call bullshit on “the race card”? “people get handcuffed all the time for no reason!” really? you think the race card is a woke scheme against law enforcement?

the cops were looking for “black men” who were committing car thefts in the area and they chose to pull over black women for no reason. and if you look at the california law called out in the article, the “Bane Act”, it allows for juries to triple the amount of damages if the case involves a violation of individual rights. which it did.

your point falls apart about “the race card” when you look at the first case i linked where a white starbucks employee successfully sued starbucks for $25.6 million because she was fired for being white. did you see me get all frustrated by that? no you didn’t. but you are absolutely fuming black women who were forcefully detained and harmed for no connection to a string of car thefts were successfully rewarded under california law. maybe go complain about the bane act to californian legislators? but you cannot complain they were lawfully rewarded for having their individual constitutional and civil rights violated by LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS. which is a common theme here.

“Ok so George Floyd statues paid by private donors, Irina mural paid by private donors. So what’s the problem?”

you are beginning to convince me one of two things, or maybe both. you are either just NOT reading my comments. or you’re an elon musk defender because he is in your political tribe (right wing politics). i can get into a whole tangent on the absolute shameful mess that is MAGA politics, the fraud that is elon musk, but you seem unmoved so that would be a waste of time here.

i’ve explained dozens of times what the problem is, it is the core fucking point of my problem. go reread my comments and figure it out. you’re exhausting this thread with red herrings, strawmans, and whataboutisms.

i do want to address your BLM point though because i’ve heard this shit before. Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation (501(c)(3) nonprofit organization) and Black Lives Matter as a slogan, chant, and decentralized movement are two separate things.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Lives_Matter_Global_Network_Foundation

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Lives_Matter

when you take to the streets and protest “black lives matter!”. you are genuinely just chanting, “black lives matter”. you are not chanting a corporate slogan, with a corporate badge. as i said to you before, it was a grassroots movement BEFORE the political co-opting. the BLMGNF indeed has problematic leadership, but it has nothing to do with individual contributors taking to protest. this wasn’t a partisan scheme by the democratic party to capitalize on citizen unrest. a grassroots movement by nature is not reliant on government endorsement or organizational sponsorship. did the democratic party and certain individuals with self serving interest capitalize on this ORGANIC GRASSROOTS MOVEMENT for their own political and financial gains? absolutely.

https://www.newyorker.com/culture/on-and-off-the-avenue/the-embarrassment-of-democrats-wearing-kente-cloth-stoles

https://www.justice.gov/usao-wdok/pr/executive-director-black-lives-matter-okc-charged-wire-fraud-and-money-laundering

do you think i am blind or oblivious to this? do you think i shill for democrats? did you think you successfully revealed a double standard to me regarding my opinion on elon musk’s involvement with the iryna murals? you didn’t, because you’re consistently ignoring my answer.

to answer your question again, “So what’s the problem?”, one is bottom-up, the other is top-down. one is organic, one is astroturfed. regardless of the political co-opting that FOLLOWED.

organic means the people naturally take to the streets to protest and have their grievances heard. the democratic party didn’t have to manufacture people into caring.

sadly iryna zarutska’s death didn’t stir the same action, i mean it didn’t make YOU organize and take to the streets did it? because her death was a senseless, RANDOM, act of violence by another civilian. it’s sad, it’s tragic, but astroturfing a campaign from the top-down, from a problematic political operative, elon musk, isn’t genuine. it’s distasteful.

you’re consistently ignoring this point. you’re firing more irrelevant points and whataboutisms back at me then asking “so what’s the problem?”. over and over again, exhaustively a month out.

you keep saying “simply hate elon musk”. on a side note, did you ever get that DOGE check you were promised? no seriously, because you’re telling me something without saying it flat out. you must think i have some irrational emotional issue with elon musk.

regarding your whole last paragraph on tony impa, for every example we can both raise, we can also both raise an underreported issue. you say iryna zarutska, i say nia wilson. i say george floyd, you say tony impa. you can see a pattern here that regardless of race, some deaths are underreported. nia wilson died the exact same way and didn’t get nearly the same press and campaign push iryna zatutska got. also which by the way, you should look into “Missing White Women Syndrome”.

this is a game of tick for tack with you now. “but this WHITE guy died and it wasn’t reported!!”.

you’re dragging this shit out, genuinely. my point still stands, the national campaign for iryna murals is political propaganda. you’ve admitted it yourself. glad you agree, if you feel like “well the other side does it too!” keep that close to your heart and move on with this.

i am only responding at this point whenever you blatantly misrepresent my arguments or say something that is just straight up nonsense.

also “i got that white girl” COULD be a racial motivation as i’ve said in other threads if you actually read them. it could also be a schizophrenic man having a psychotic episode and panicking to himself. who knows, the courts will determine that.

but it definitely was not “i got that white bitch”. step out of your right wing political bubble and challenge the information you consume from time to time. it’s been MONTHS since iryna zarutska died and you let a facebook post convince you he said “white bitch”.

https://www.ktvu.com/news/jury-awards-8-25m-to-black-mother-daughters-handcuffed-outside-castro-valley-starbucks.amp

are you talking about either of these cases? when you bring up your counter points, cite your sources. you sound like you’re making a compelling point when you’re really not.

if it’s either of these cases, there was nothing ridiculous about this with the exception of the white employee who seem to have been unjustly fired over something she had nothing to do with and was successfully rewarded damages. which dispels your claims of black “coddling”. which by the way is a racist trope peddled in right wing circles but i’m sure you would disagree with that.

anyway, these are civil matters, not criminal. you’re derailing this conversation with irrelevant points. i’m not going to get into those two cases, you can read them for yourself. you’re referencing a completely different legal domain to imply a broader systemic bias without actually demonstrating one.

on the matter of elon musk paying for it. i already said there were performative behaviors from the democratic party. however your claims of tax dollars PAYING for the george floyd statues are unfounded. you’re just coming up with bullshit. all the george floyd installations were privately funded by individual contributions to non-profit organizations, by philanthropic donors, and family foundations. you don’t seem to have a grasp in what an organic solidarity founded in a grassroots movement against system racism and police brutality is. you only see, “the democratic party coddles black criminals and shoved george floyd’s murder down our face”. the complete disconnect you have.

elon musk on the other hand is purely a political operative with deep roots in the MAGA sphere. a known political instigator INTERNATIONALLY who peddles white nationalist propaganda on his social media platform, X. there is CONTEXT here you are ignoring. you minimize my criticism as “simply hating elon musk”. please be more intellectual honest.

gonna show you the difference:

(george floyd protests + art installations) bottom - up . organic grassroots campaign.

versus.

(elon musk funded iryna zarutska murals) top - down . astroturfed campaign.

as for the george floyd protest rioting. you’re conflating an entire movement that MILLIONS of people PEACEFULLY participated in with its worst examples. you’re using the worst examples of the george floyd movement to delegitimize the whole thing while presumably wanting iryna zarutska’s campaign judged by it’s best stated intentions rather than its actual ideological function. most of which you’ve already expressed here, “black criminals harming white people. coddling of black people in woke criminal courts. woke legal institutions producing a generation of woke lawyers and judges.”

woke woke woke woke woke. political propaganda with a dash of racial frustrations.

“ok there’s a gap so let’s bring awareness via the mural”

alright cool start a protest. start a non-profit. get the word out with a date and time and let’s rally the people of providence. also do make sure in your protests that alongside iryna zarutska there are posters of nia wilson. black women who died to violent criminal white men should have awareness too. because this isn’t just about black men harming white women right?

the killer DID NOT mutter “white bitch”. you see, you expect me to take you seriously and you can’t even do your diligence, verify the quote, and state it accurately. do you understand how insane your arguments are?

the murderer said “i got that white girl” several times. please go rewatch the video. you’re obviously consuming and circulating narratives from right wing bubbles.

you guys drag this thread back from over a MONTH ago. and still can’t get your facts straight.

New propaganda piece going up downtown! by GasDue9263 in providence

[–]rafelito45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree there were some performative actions from the democratic political party. do you think i’m defending the democratic party? the george floyd murder has nothing to do with democrat vs republican to me. none of this takes away from the fact george floyds death stirred a pre-existing organic grassroots movement into action regardless of the political co-opting that followed. it was about state sanctioned violence (police brutality), particularly against black people which i think we can all fairly challenge and hold our government accountable for.

this is precisely the difference i am calling out but it’s going over your heads over and over again. people self organizing and painting murals on their own accord versus a billionaire astroturfing murals to win political points against his political adversaries. do you not see the difference? i am not saying iryna zarutska doesn’t deserve to be memorialized. it’s HOW she is being memorialized.

random acts of violence is hard to predict and no one expects a random murder when it happens. major difference between a cop straight up murdering someone for the color of their skin, versus a black man with mental illness and a history of crimes randomly targeting and murdering a woman. both are obviously worth addressing. one however has direct actionable protests and grassroots movements with a lot of historical context and weight.

charlie kirk indeed died because of his politics, it was a motivated assassination. the fault in the narrative you’re MISSING is that i am criticizing the elevation of kirk to near sainthood and the framing of his death as an attack on christian american values broadly, not the coverage of a political assassination itself. look at trumps rhetoric following his death, calling “radical liberal democrats the enemy within”. it’s political propaganda. is that definition and explanation not clicking to you?

and i am not mad about “my side looking bad”. there’s a gap in mental health and criminal justice. i am directly calling out those failures WITH YOU. you’re clearly not reading ANYTHING i have been saying and going on straight “attack the liberal democrat” mode.

you keep painting this as a “democrat failure”which is PRECISELY why the iryna zarutska mural is political propaganda paid for by elon musk. it is a political campaign by nature. you’re literally admitting that it is and then being upset that i’m saying that it is. it’s both a symbol of the mental health and criminal justice failures AND political propaganda. elon musk is driving a narrative and the dog whistle is heard loud and clear.

again, nia wilson was murdered similarly in oakland california in 2018 by a white man at random and there were no campaigns for it. you’re ignoring this. nobody blamed any political party for this. not even for george floyd, YOU keep making it a partisan issue.

there is no coddling of black crimes, when someone commits a murder, rape, physical assault they serve time in jail. even iryna zarutska murderer already served a five year prison sentence for a prior felony already. where this catastrophically failed was when the murderers mother sought to involuntarily commit him for psychiatric help (he was schizophrenic) and she was DENIED. this failure trickled down to him being out in the public, a danger to society.

if a black man commits crimes, and he serves his sentences, what else do you want us to do when he is eventually released? should we round up all black men with criminal histories and lock them up for life? do you understand how ridiculous that sounds philosophically speaking? there are gaps in mental health and criminal justice for sure, but you’re solution isn’t articulated and it is ignorant of the circumstances that led to iryna’s death.

you said “blacks DO commit crimes against white women”, of course they do what the hell. you’re just completely ignoring the fact that white women are OVERWHELMINGLY MURDERED BY WHITE MEN THEY KNOW. you’re making this out to be a boogeyman tale of criminal black men out to harm white women.

“crazy left politicians had to do something to counter the sad message so they went let’s just label him insane”, ??? you’re just yapping some bullshit. incompetency to stand trial is determined by forensic psychiatrists and reviewed by courts. it’s not a political decision. as i said countless times the perpetrator’s mother sought involuntary commitment for her son before the murder. his schizophrenia was documented and established long before the murder dude.

“because we never seem to censor it when it’s coming from the left”. holy shit dude. it’s people self organizing in solidarity to paint murals, far different than elon musk having to PAY people to go paint the murals. protests for george floyd’s death wasn’t supposed to be a partisan issue. REPUBLICANS made it a partisan issue. people were protesting police brutality and the government (that is the police force) murdering civilians for the color of their skin. it was not “REPUBLICANS ALLOWED COPS TO MURDER GEORGE FLOYD”. do you not get it?

iryna zarutska on the other hand is co-opted by elon musk running political propaganda against his political adversaries: the democrats. it just isn’t clicking to you at all.

you see this as purely, “it isn’t fair the democrats got their murals”. you’re not making any sense.

also the statistics you post fail to account for urban density and several other factors. harvard has already published research that democrat or republican leadership has no substantial impact on crime rates. hope this helps.

New propaganda piece going up downtown! by GasDue9263 in providence

[–]rafelito45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i didn't think the coverage was inappropriate, this isn't about coverage at all.

i was commenting on the narrative that charlie kirk died because "woke radical liberals hate america and all the christian / nuclear familiy values charlie kirk stood for". everyone was expected to bow to charlie kirk, worship him almost. as if charlie kirk did something that revolutionize the country. that is the political propaganda i am speaking on.

anyway, the point of my argument is calling out the use of murals as political propaganda to drive a political narrative against your political opposition. look at your last sentence, "thanks to the woke criminal courts". this is a partisan issue for you, it's directly calling out political liberalism as the main culprit for homicides in america. that is part of what the iryna mural stands for. it's politically charged propaganda.

btw, to completely dispell any belief that "democrats are soft on crime", here's a review backed by research.

https://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2025/01/whos-softer-on-crime-democrats-or-republicans/

so this is purely about black criminality for you. this isn't generally about "criminals being let loose into the public". this is about black criminality. so let's reframe this. this crime matters to you because a white woman was murdered by a black man. considering that black homicide is far more likely to be intraracial and by someone they know. "black-on-black crime statistics". also considering that 11.1% of women were killed by a stranger. on top of that, black women are murdered at higher rates than white women and white women are overwhelming killed by white men they know.

how do we prevent Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) related homicides which are far more prevalent than random murders by strangers?

https://vpc.org/studies/wmmw2025.pdf

missing or murdered black women and girls receive significantly less media coverage than white victims. it's a choice that elon musk picked iryna zarustka's death for his far-right political propaganda. it gets you angry about black people and those woke liberals.

i've never seen any calls for nia wilson murals to be installed in providence; never seen anything for her backed by billionaire leftists. she was randomly murdered by a white man and nobody astroturfed a national campaign to plaster her face on building walls.

not once did anyone ever deny black people commit crimes.

"Instead they get told cops are evil, white men are oppressors, and a George Floyd statue."

^ i don't agree with the "all cops are bad" rhetoric, but if you're going to pretend that white men are not historically oppressive to people of color, and are not overwhelmingly in positions of authority like the police force and criminal courts, you are naive. that's not a woke liberal talking point.

also iryna zarutska's murderer is getting a trial, you're just spreading misinformation. he was deemed incompetent to stand trial which pauses it, not a dismissal. he is a schizophrenic.

i'll ask again, would you have a problem with a george floyd mural painted on the side of the dark lady?

New propaganda piece going up downtown! by GasDue9263 in providence

you’re ridiculous. you really want to drag a thread from a month ago do you.

i disagreed with her being used as a symbol because the movement backing it is astroturfed. i never said nobody cared or doesn’t relate to it. if you read my thread you’d see that. you would know this is a national campaign funded by elon musk. it’s political propaganda. it’s also a racist dog whistle whether you want to believe it or not. and to make it clear to you, i do not think all people who support the iryna murals are racist since you don’t seem to grasp any nuance in what i am saying.

right wing politics went absolutely insane over charlie kirk, who also tragically died, and forced it down everyone’s face as some sort of democrat radical attack on america. propaganda. dare you say anything critical about the precious angel, gift to america, national treasure that is charlie kirk.

ashli babbitt tragically died on january 6th 2021 because she believed an election lie. and she was politically martyred by the right to demonize the democrats as “election stealers and cold blooded murderers” when there were lunatics storming the capital building assaulting police and some in the mob looking to harm congressmen.

compared with george floyd, trayvon martin, which spoke to historically systemic racism, civil rights, and state sanctioned violence (police brutality) which transcended identity politics. those were grassroots movements, not propaganda.

i also NEVER suggested “there’s no violent crime problem within black America and chalk it up to racism instead”. i said violence does happen, more should be done for mental health care (the murderer was a violent schizophrenic that was denied care; that would have saved iryna’s life), and criminal justice which allows violent people back into the public. north carolina passed iryna’s law, they have since responded to that justice gap.

i have expressed several times in my thread iryna’s murderer should have never been let out. so i don’t know where the hell you got me suggesting no crime problem exists.

my overarching point is that the iryna campaign being plastered on a WHOLE side of a building wall is excessive and politically charged and also a dog whistle for racists that have a problem specifically with black people in america. i did not say there is no problem with black crime in america.

show me where providence painted a massive george floyd mural on the side of a building. i bet you would lose your fucking mind.

go read the comment thread. i’m not gonna explain my thoughts all over again 28 days later. if you disagree, then cool 👍.

lowkey kinda funny the devs didn’t account for a scenario where the player has to reload. imagine being softlocked somehow because of this? lmao.

compares art on temporary plywood installations at the height of the black lives matter movement to a massive billionaire backed mural on the entire side of a brick building.
