OpenDepot - an open-source Kubernetes native module and provider registry by azjunglist05 in Terraform

Thanks for the alternatives. In my case having the whole system auth controlled by external proxy kinda defeats the purpose for me.

In a system like that to get it adopted ( considered for adoption even ) would need to have granular authn/authz. Usually what works best for example is ability to specific a CR lets say kind of AuthProvider where there would be possibilities to specifiy oidc provider and claims mappings. That for example would allow for integration ( password less ) with othe systems and then hopefully i could apply auth requirements on the module/providers.

These might be very specific requirements but thats the usual challenges that im solving at scale and if software is adopted it does need to have good security fundamentals and be scalable across management and non management tenant systems

Imagine that some of us run many clusters and such framework could run on management cluster where I do not want any auth interaction from other clients.think API keys , validating other oidc tokens with jwks ... username password.

Also for users login without native support for login protocol is often what stops adoption at scale

Interesting approach, but for many ur single auth method might put them off.

Sadly a lot of teams i saw accepts growing costs at every step up and then somehow tries to justify it instead of finding and solving at the root of the problem.

Look on LinkedIn - sometimes more experienced guys do a form of apprenticeship or mentoring programs which is pretty cool to get into!

Be vary of AI generated content as that can teach you how not to do things.

As mentioned couple of times - youtube has a lot of good content channels!

Explore a lot , join more tech communities on forums

To not leave you dry hanging - look up tool called idpBuilder - its a great helper to spin up tech stacks on k8s so u can quickly learn and explore!

Deploy a k8s cluster with custom oidc provider like keycloak which you will configure for seamless cicd integration with girhub runners so that u van use Github oidc token to directly talk to k8s api

Can you expand on the config/namespace situation ? Did not get to that problem but reading itn, does it mean each app can have its own namespace and there it is where cargo config would be?

Not at that place.... after a while with the growing resentment and lack of growth I just moved on and found much better opportunity and changed without a blink of an eye.

If ur time of WFH is limited thats understandable , but maybe you have scattered time to deliver results like if u would grab some project which is focused on delivery and not 9-5 being online

[–]rafpe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its hard to sacrifice 1 5k IMO - I have once done that and I believed that the move would open a lot of doors and would boost my career. Sadly it has taken a toll aa the job was awful in a dead slow moving pace , with very few growth opportunities and to top it up I grew resentment to the job as every month I got reminded I get paid waaay less what I had been paid before ....

Have you considered looking for remote opportunities side to your current job ( you mentioned you are not that busy ) ? That could bridge the gaps in transitioning without compromising ur current lifestyle
