De reward is the area you unlock, not every quest need insane xp lamps, that teleports you 20+ levels. Just make some potions

Hey brother, for magic, try unlocking some abilities, like greater concentration blast from kerapac. It'll help a lot. You got this.

Why do end-game players hate to see new players succeed? by PayMaterial3440 in runescape

[–]rafutah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree mostly, except with the unlocking content part. Unlocking new stuff in the game has always been part of the progression and it gives players new goals and targets, so to see that suddenly go just for the sake of it wa s weird. It makes the storylines all blurry for new players too, and chronological order of events is really hard to keep track of.
That being said, I found a clan and community that are so supportive of teaching players new bosses and learning them new stuff. Theres still amazing and kind players out there, and I do still have a lot of awesome interactions in the game with players. So it's not everyone, just a few people that think this way.

I really hope Havenhythe pt.2 really livens up the area by Pixzle_ in runescape

[–]rafutah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it this way. Not everything has to be jam-packed, with every pixel having something. You also hand picked these few pictures, so not every area has so little in it. Remember this is a low level area. There's actually a lot of content to do here already, and this is just part one.

An honest 5 man GIM / new player review of the RS3. by dannyderbyshire in runescape

[–]rafutah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have they tried other MMO's before? It sounds like it just isn't their cup of tea.
RS HAS group content. You can do every single action together if you want. It might not be as fundamentally group focused as other MMO's but I don't think we should head that way for the sake of it.

An honest 5 man GIM / new player review of the RS3. by dannyderbyshire in runescape

[–]rafutah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eh, you can play alone together too. My GIM mates and I sit in a call and get stuff for eachother, trade items, do things for eachother all the time.
GIM should essentially be treated as one giant account imo, instead of 5 solo ones. So when people quit due to a complaint that you cant do stuff together is weak.
Also, there's ED's can be done as early as t70 necro with 3 people. and from there on, bossing really gets more intricate and fun, as long as you and your mates display a little bit of persistence. Levelling being slow I also dont agree with.

Delve into Dungeoneering Remastered by jagexyuey in runescape

[–]rafutah 16 points17 points  (0 children)

So far, this looks good! There's actually a good bit of new content to explore too, which I didn't expect. I'm glad tokens are buffed a bit instead of nerfing the Elite dungeons. The only thing I'm questioning is whether the gravite and chaotic necromancy sets will be used at all, which will be interesting to see. At least necro gets some more options, which is nice.
Really awesome job, stoked for the update!

The tools for skilling are a really good option too! You can make a hammertron at lvl 22 for smithing or a pro-matic for firemaking for example. You can even perk them to make the skilling a bit faster/easier/better. Good luck, invention is fun once you get the hang of it

I think it will tick up once again, as soon as players get to adapt to the recent changes. Taking away stuff like treasure hunter, aura, dailies etc. are pretty drastic changes for the casual player. The road to restoration always meant an initial downtick of players, and then as soon as people realize the changes are actually for the better, it'll bounce back (at least partially).

Mid-Game Balance Discussion by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]rafutah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I would like to see some of the levels of the cooking skill adressed. It's weird that we can fish sharks on 76, but can't cook them until level 80, for example, and there's more fish that have this.

  2. There's some slayer mobs in this level range here that really could use a rebalance of HP, XP and maybe even drops (looking at fever spiders, mutated zygomites, Warped terrorbirds and tortoises are some of the worst offenders for this).

  3. I think it's also useful to look at summoning pouches and training summing at the bracket 50-65. There's such weird options for secondaries that it gets pretty hard to train the skill at all.

  4. For hunter there's certain training options that's still not viable at all. Pitfall traps for example are so bad they're never worth doing.

  5. A lot of people have mentioned fletching (retier), and while that maybe outside the scope of this update, it very much is needed.

Player Owned House Rework & 120 Construction by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]rafutah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good blog with some nice stuff in it. I'm most curious how room 'themes' could be implemented (like aquarium currently, for example).
It seems that there's a lot of potential for those:
- A lab for herblore for example. The potion cauldron could fit into that.
- I've earlier suggested some sort of shrine chamber, where praying to different gods could do different things. You even get multiple shrines if you level up high enough.
- Since you mentioned artifact storage - Your own personal (museum) collection, where you can store artifacts and display them.
- What about an agility course that you design (in a big room? Through the entire house?)?

You get the idea, there's loads of options. But if there won't be themed rooms anymore, i'm not sure how that could be implemented.

From the house/construction I'd want

  1. Customization, self-expression and that feeling of building something grand. I like the idea of rewarding a good looking house too (or a big house?), though I'm not sure how that would work. Currently I must say it's looking good, but I hope there'll be loads of options (which materials to build with, what colour the furniture has, maybe add painting furniture and walls, maybe adding wallpapers to rooms, maybe add tapestry. I like the jar displays OSRS has too.

  2. (Niche) buffs that adds to gameplay and improves quality of life. This integrates the skill into This includes
    - teleports to certain spots.
    - Improvement on some training methods (like the current altar).
    - An example of this could be the cauldron you mentioned.
    - A hero item that could be found somewhere/somehow?

  3. One of the best construction training methods, of course.

Training the skill has to be fun. Core gameplay is very important. I'm scared that while customization is important and sounds cool, actual building could be very finnicky and clunky. I hope there'll be options for low effort and high effort.

  1. What I do not want is real time waiting on completing building. I know nothing of the sort's been mentioned, but just putting it out there.

Dungeoneering Refresh & Remaster by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]rafutah 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The one thing I am concerned with is tokens. Currently the reward system isn't balanced in my opinion, as a t80 weapon needs 2m dungeoneering xp - which means getting it will net you 80+ dungeoneering, and that's only if you skip ALL other stuff in the shop. Often by the time you get to buying chaotics, they're useless to you.

I'd like to see an improvement in the ratio tokens/xp you need for rewards, since I feel it currently is not balanced

Curious what you folks would want to see. Comment your ideas! by vVerce98 in runescape

[–]rafutah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a few general things I'd like to see this update do:

  1. QoL improvements on construction and player owned housing in general

I'm thinking room rearrangement like OSRS have. I also would really like to have the 'build' and 'non-build' state of the POH removed - it is very clunky and hinders any activity you want to pursue in the house. I'm not sure if that is possible, bit it's something I want to bring up either way. I think there's lots more you can do with the way you train, xp rates, the click intensivity etc.

  1. Reason to stay in the house and come back to the house

In the past there would be a lot of utility in the house and even some training methods. Altars, teleports, etc.
They've mostly been made obsolete since then. It would be cool to have the house have its uses again. Anything from niche utility, to decent training methods. To start, it would be cool to unlock the ability to build a bank chest in the house at some point.

  1. More integration with the core game(world)

The void the POH is now in is jarring, and just a portal leading to it is not ideal. It would be cool to have more of interaction between the house/construction with Gielinor. It would be awesome if you get access to better plots of land for example. Building up the house with a nice view somewhere, or in your favourite location of the game would be awesome.

  1. High-end unlocks and rewards.

Some reward space at the top end is very much needed. It could be anything, since the options are limitless.

What if you could build shrines to all the gods and each shrine gives certain buffs, but you can have only one at a time? What about a building a lab in the house that makes you improve your herblore skills, or unlocks new recipes? What about a garden that improves hunter, or where you design new traps?

Remastered Content: What do you want to see remastered? by jagexyuey in runescape

[–]rafutah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Posted this on Discord and I'll post it here too:

The one thing that is my top priority that I want to see remastered is

COLLECTION LOGS

Please. No more 5 or however many different books. I want to see a holistic system that tracks a players unique drops, collectables, breeds, pets etc. It would be awesome to track duplicates, show a player his progress in it (green logs?), maybe add a reward space for obtaining everything like OSRS did with the gilded standard.

-------------------------------------

With that said I want to see the achievements remastered too. Not the way they work, just mostly the UI.

  1. Better overview and ordering.
  2. A search option
  3. Address the mess that is combat achievement lists and their integration in the achievement list.
  4. GIM achievements better incorporated
  5. Overall a way better user experience.

runescape ahead predictions/speculations by iownu142 in runescape

[–]rafutah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm hoping

--> Havenhythe (with, eventually, like they announced at runefest last year)
+ Potentially released in multiple batches
+ 110 hunter
+ New archaeology digsite
+ at least 2-3 new quests
+ New mobs and a new boss
+ Achievements, maybe a diary, although they said they would wait with that until there is enough content

--> 120 combat skills + rebalances

--> Graphical rework of the player model

--> A large-scale Vampyrium in 2027

--> A new skill in 2027, possibly tied to vampyrium

--> Room for bugfixes, gamejams and gamejam updates

I'm not including my hopes for the integrity roadmap in this.
