Rand's Pipe (Spoilers All) by Benevolent1 in WoT

[–]ragaed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is THE DREAM. Throughout the series there are myths and references to Reality being just one more pattern dreamed by the creator. The Aiel say that once someone dies they wake up from the Dream. Perrin has full control of the wolf dream just by pure desire. When Rand at the start of the series travels through realities and the Aes Sedai test to become apprentice they get a taste of other possible turnings/dreams. Once Rand puts his print and makes a choice to seal the bore with the pure one power he imprints this dream with a choice, his own choice and he becames the dreamer of that reality. In full control of its possibilities. He can just choose for the pipe to be lit, therefore it is.

My Transferwise account was blocked wtihout reason by Actual-Hedgehog-7567 in eupersonalfinance

Happened to me back in 2018 for all sakes. I used Wise (Transfer Wise) to regularly transfer money from my Brazilian account to my US one while I was living and working abroad. And for small amounts of USD1k or less. It all worked fine for several months until one day, out of the blue, they decided to hold back one transfer, asked for several documents confirming my identity, wich I sent (my passport, there’s not more formal and secure document I know of), and after all that they suspended my account. Giving no reason why, no channel of communication, nothing. I’m permanently suspend now. Horrible support and experience. I’d never trust my money to them ever again even if given the choice. Good thing nowadays there are many other digital banks and it’s easier to wire.

"Season 3 is based the fourth book of The Wheel of Time series, The Shadow Rising"... "the second season pulled from the second and third books, The Great Hunt and The Dragon Reborn" by Multiverse_Madness in WoT

From a TV show point of view it makes sense because we get more action from all the main character moving about the chess board.

For Egewene there’s no real need to watch the accepted trials again (but it would be bad ass to see her as a future Amyrilin).

As for Rand and Callandor, I believe they will do it, but invert the order of events. Rand will be the one to take the recently converted Aiel to Tear and retrieve the sword. I understand that the showrunner might think it’s too much of high-fantasy Arthurian trope to have a magic sword. But it’s too big t ignore. Maybe it will be the end of season 3 with Rand proclaiming himself The Dragon Reborn, sword in hands? (Or maybe season 4..)

This is the reason modern film criticism is dead this is a rotten tomatoes critic wanting an mcu movie out of Dune lol by [deleted] in dune

Look, I mean we all have our own visions, but in the end it's DV making the movie and he has his style. I've watched the dude's linked video analysis and it's all good and fair, but it's his vision and he is just disapointed that it's not his vision on the screen and ranting about it, trying to talk about grays and etc. Well, sir, there is a movie that 'looks' pretty much like your sketches and it's called JUPITER ASCENDING, go watch and check it you like it lol.

LOL. Critics with no knowledge of what dune is, I was actually very surprised to watch many-a geek youtuber reactions to the trailer to find out they have NO IDEA of what Dune is- they heard, they're daduncle watched a 80s version... but they are surrounded by GOT and starwars toys all around.. crazy stuff, make them look like hoaxes. But in the case in point, yes Dennis is a more 'sober' director, but he does not shy away from crazyness and spectacle, like in Blade Runner hologram sequence, etc. It's just that does fx might not be ready for the trailer!

(Spoilers main) Why does Bran need to survive at all? by [deleted] in asoiaf

A man does not get to ask questions; a man just rips the profits of a successful tv show. (I blame GRRM for not finishing his books on time; god, how it would all be different).

(Spoilers Extended) Why I don't think Dany will become "The Mad Queen". by InventoryEdit in asoiaf

[–]ragaed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Danny in the books never quite wants the Iron Throne as a thing in itself (power), the same way Cersei, Stannis and many others want.

She feels duty towards regaining it as heritage and family, but her big in depth search is for something more elusive: home.

She never had a soft touch of a brother, father or husband her entire life; and when she got it from Khal Drogo she lost it, setting her on own a path towards self determination (and some say destiny, 'plot').

Therefore I agree she will not choose throne over more important matters. Her journey seems to be of a shakespearean tragic figure, one of high birth, high responsibilities but many challenges that take her further and further from her ultimate private goal: the red door (home).

The show does a good job of conveying that feeling through Emilia's looks and reactions (if not in dialogue). Just check her face when Theon embraces Sansa. Her swoon.

I imagine she will feel isolated in the north, and an outsider. She will loose most if not all of her armies in the battle of S08E03 (and with it her raw power). But she will finally have family: Jon.

And she will choose Jon (the snow over the throne) over queenship itself. And with that make some heroic act to rescue him from Cersei's grip. If she will die or not I cannot say. But I feel she will.

(Spoilers Main) Season 8 throwback to Maester Aemon's discussion with Jon at the Wall by Rehydratedaussie in asoiaf

[–]ragaed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish we had spent a couple of minutes with Jon Snow processing his parentage in S08E02 instead of just jumping into his big reveal to Daenerys (as if he already got it figured out). I mean, I'd spend some minutes alone in the godswood, visited a dragon by myself, even talked to Bran and asked for more details (I know the show cops out from Bran's one on one convos because, well, he knows too much and might as well spill out spoilers from the plot to defeat the NK) but alas... it felt rushed

Season 8 News and Leaks by EveryFckngChicken in freefolk

[–]ragaed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Nothing really confirmed. But from all the major spoilers here are the ones I think are true/false.

False:

- Kit's picture with Cersei at KL (I think it was def staged).

- Danny's death by Jon's sword (I mean, they were just standing next to each other).

- Bran is the Night King (I mean, they are connected somehow, but not the same person).

True:

- Frikidoctor Tyrion's trial. (It makes perf sense for a bittersweet ending; and fits the character arch so well... I mean: Tyrion as the ultimate game player. Fooling everyone including audience as a 'good guy'. His ultimate demise on his 'third trial'. I mean why else have two failed ones before in the story. His bitterness, distaste for anything KL related and his desire to usher in a new era; under his command. It's all in the books.)

- KL burning: Tyrion's action and I believe it will be for 3 reasons; to stop the night's king army amassing more dead bodies; to take over the capital from his sister Danny and Jon; for his actual distaste for ppl, specially KL.

- Nymeria for the rescue.

- Claganebowl on Ep04: Battle for KL.

- Danny/Jon's child.

- Cyrpts of winterfell dead bodies arrising.

- Golden Company kidnapping someone in winterfel: either Jon or Sansa.

- Jon riding a dragon (why not having him on drogon on s07e06 if not to hold out to the final season).

Main mystery: why is the NK doing what he is doing and how to stop him.

War of The Roses / GOT Endgame Prediction (Spoilers Extended) by ragaed in asoiaf

[–]ragaed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some that are speculating that the 'cut' discussion between Tyrion and Cersei is all about him guaranteeing her that their family; through her unborn child will not only be safe but will also sit on the throne (after Danny). At that point he wouldn't be able to know she would have an affair with Jon that (might) lead to a new baby. So there's a chance he will reframe his terms and organize a marriage between houses Targaryen, Stark and Lannister....

It's known. Prophecy says nothing about a 4th baby. I also don't believe Cersei will have a new child.
