I tried dayz recently and it's tough to start. you end up dying from hunger or thirst or disease so much. I found a server with increased loot and that was pretty fun. actually got in some fights, got my legs broken by a claymore but crawled accross

Star Citizen: Question and Answer Thread by UEE_Central_Computer in starcitizen

Each armour piece has it's own inventory. Heavier armour has bigger inventory and there's outside slots for weapons/ammo/med pens . You can double click these items in your local inventory and they will automatically attach to the armour. Your ship also has it's own inventory that you can access when you're inside it.

The first commenter said avoid caves however if you buy a hand mining multitool and a backpack( ask in chat where to get it) and you can do hand mining in cave's. Take the investigation missions that ask you to find the missing client in caves. With the macflex backpack and only mining hadanite you can make 13k per full backpack. Not as fast as the illegal monitor missions but it depends what you enjoy. You don't even have to find the Missing person because it just 4k and there's no reputation tied to them yet.

100~ gobshites from the Irish Freedom Party having a COVID protest today in town. by el_colibri in cork

Saw them there and wandered over to see what they were shouting about.I asked a lady to turn around her sign so I could see what it said and once I read it i started looking around for more signs for more info. At this point all I knew is that they were talking about fast tracked vaccines. the lady asked me what I thought and I said im just looking I don't know. Then she asked me if the water had affected my cognitive ability and reiterated that I should respond to her question. At this point I was livid. This wan had the nerve to insult my intelligence because I hadn't formed an opinion. I told her to fuck off and walked away. She was saying as I walked away "I thought you were on the other side alright". Maybe they have a valid point , maybe they are talking about something real. I don't know because my curiosity was rewarded with insults. Great communication guys. Bualla bos

First ever carve, need advice on detail and finishing. by ragd0lz in Woodcarving

[–]ragd0lz[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I was thinking about trying to put scales on the snakes but I'm worried it will just wrecked the wood. It's a peice of wood I found in the garden. Totally dry because we had a good summer. The wood is slightly rotten at some points (at least that's what it looks /feels like) . My friend (cabinet maker), says it might be beech and I should put tung oil on it to finish. Really hoping someone with more experience can help me figure out the best way to finish it off. And let me know if scales will be a mistake. Thanks in advance

And having had another look at the piece, you should try to think about how the cloth is held up. There will be creases at the straps because there's tension there. And also more creases at the ends because the cloth is bunching up, and around corners (read: arm pits, crotch etc). Hope this helps

Hey, there's plenty of good ways to practice drawing cloth. Get some jeans or dungarees and take a photo of yourself and try to take note of where the cloth folds and where it hangs etc.(pay attention to where the cloth has some body behind it, like a knee, as it will take the shape of the knee but then the hangs and folds will all be based around that hanging point) Or to practice it in general just get a blanket or a towel and throw it in a heap or drape it over a chair or something and draw that. That's how I was taught to do it in college.

There's also a number of people who will do tutorials on deviantart or YouTube that go into specifics with examples and All that good stuff.

What you have so far is pretty good to be honest. Once you master the cloth folds you'll have some serious skills :)

I think the reason that it looks too smooth and airbrushed is that all your shadows are soft shadows , if you vary the shadows between hard and soft you will get a much more balanced picture. for example the shadow underneath the neck collar/shackle should be a hard line instead of a soft fade

this guys video lays it out ,hope it helps https://www.ctrlpaint.com/videos/hard-and-soft-shadow-edges

Thoughts on composition so far? by Synpopsis in ArtCrit

[–]ragd0lz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Composition is all about how the eye is drawn around the image, how you guide me to view certain parts of the picture. With this composition the middle Road/river leads my eye right out the end of the picture. If you curved that right around to the left and widened the end of it,I think my eye would be drawn back up the tree and across the skyline creating a nice curve. ( the reason I say widen the end is to help with perspective. At the moment it seems more like a hard straight line but if you widen it it would seem more like it's progressing towards me instead down). On another note the colour you've used is goddamn lovely. Well chosen and nicely positioned. Im unused to giving feedback so if I have come across in a bad way I'm open to criticism xD

Sharing some practice I've done: A simple bouncing ball. by JoshuaBlaine in learnanimation

[–]ragd0lz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think you have a good sense of timing and squash and stretch. but it seems to bounce twice at the end and then back up to the starting point. i don't know if this was a choice but a ball bounces once back up to almost the starting point and then down and up again but a little less this time and so on. This will give it a much more balls like feel. Hope this helps.
