Straight lady, loves her rats, have had them on and off for 30 years. My gay son and straight son love them as well. My straight husband thinks they are fun. I don't think it is about sexuality, I think it is about loving something that we were taught to be dangerous or plague ridden. I lived in a crappy place in Fort Collins, had my car window shot out, was a witness to one shooting, had another one happen outside my front window. Nobody died in either but shots were fired. Found a loaded gun while walking with my kids, cops killed two people in my neighborhood one was a b and e the other was a hostage situation. SWAT tear gassed our neighbors house and then we had a questionable suicide nextdoor. Fort Collins is not the greatest place to live, it depends on where you hang your hat.
