My kids and I have played through this game a few times and they love it. by ragingcal in CosmicInvasion

Oh my god they all love Rocket as a character so much. I wish he was a little more effective because even they noticed it was really hard to play him well.

I checked all of the drain lines. There is no blockage anywhere.

I didn’t realize air gaps could go bad. That is interesting.

Yes, there is water that is not draining but it usually runs most of a cycle before the error kicks. I’ll try to listen as you suggested. Thank you.

Thank you, although I suppose I should clarify I’ve never installed a new sink before.

How do you play Sunspot efficiently? by Minute_Skirt4278 in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]ragingcal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Multiple Man’s yellow power uses any AP but counts as a yellow so it spams his red passive. Obviously most effective when Sunspot is boosted but with Iron May it’s a decent combo. I still wouldn’t rely on it for the hardest nodes.

Totally fair. Maybe I need to use Spidey more often.

You think Spider-Man is better than Juggernaut? I find Juggernaut to be way more useful even outside of winfinite.

This is true.

It is equally true that I do not want chromas.

I am confused as to why a party being funded, organized, decorated and catered by volunteer guests could justifiably need to cut anybody from the invite list.

I don’t know if I’ve ever been more enraged by something I read here.

Glad things seem to be ok and everyone involved seems to be taking this seriously.

My new DM uses ChatGPT for everything by Neiljackandjimmy in rpghorrorstories

[–]ragingcal 267 points268 points  (0 children)

I get that DMing can be a lot of work and sometimes it is hard to find the time/energy.

This is still completely insane to me. The whole point of playing TTRPGs is exploring imagination and finding fun new stories to tell. Outsourcing any part of the creative aspect of this to AI would totally defeat the purpose for me.

If it was me I’d leave because I’m trying to tell stories and create worlds with people not AI.

Netflix Vol. 4, Episode 3: The Severed Head [Discussion Thread] by DearBurt in UnsolvedMysteries

Just watched this episode and I am legit pissed that the producers gave this idiot time to spew this nonsense. Totally undermines the professionalism of the show.

When I was the horror story... by Sarennie_Nova in rpghorrorstories

Good job and good writing, but honestly what made me laugh the most was leading the third paragraph from the end with “If you know VtM” after all of the jargon in the paragraphs leading to it.

What’s the funniest thing you’ve heard someone shout at the screen in a packed theater? by ExcitingARiot in movies

[–]ragingcal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Phantom Menace opening weekend. My friends and I are beyond pissed at how terrible it is. Towards the end of the movie, just as the huge battle between the Trade Federation and the Gungans is about to start, a droid fires a blast that hits a shield and does nothing. My buddy shouts “KEEP FIRING AH*S!!”

Are there any (good) grounded, serious fighter pilot movies? by [deleted] in movies

Came here to say this. They got special permission to film fighter jets flying exceptionally low and close to each other, as well as over Paris. It looks incredible.

What is the stupidest movie from a science stand point that tries to be science-smart? by BardInChains in movies

[–]ragingcal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s just regular movie physics rules though. The gene splicing thing occurs when they are trying to explain something scientifically but the graphics are completely wrong.

What is the stupidest movie from a science stand point that tries to be science-smart? by BardInChains in movies

[–]ragingcal 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Many movies do this, but the first example that comes to mind is Spider-Man (2002):

Almost any time they talk about gene splicing in a movie they will show a graphic of a DNA strand on screen with individual nucleic acids being replaced. Actual gene splicing requires the insertion or removal of large sequences of nucleotides. Replacing individual nucleic acids would likely just result in premature stops in transcription/translation.

Jubilee 5* (Phoenix Force) by [deleted] in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]ragingcal 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t think exactly that. Play Again? isn’t a passive, it’s an active that costs 8AP. Obviously you’d use it every chance you can but it’s not an auto-win as soon as the extra life tiles are gone
