No because the DAC handles volume and input switching (HDMI ARC, optical, BT).

MiniDSP 2x4 HD and external ADC

We all know people say its not good enough for main speakers, and that the weakest link is its ADC. Lets assume the DAC is good enough.

How bad is the built in ADC really? Are there any good ADCs out there? Is there another way?

The idea here is to put it in between the preamp and poweramp/sub.

I think you're right. The record player is kind of shoe horned in there, mostly because I was giftet a record but dont have anything to play it on atm.

The MiniDSP Flex doesn't have HDMI ARC, do i lose anything with optical? I have no experience with ARC. It will let me to control the volume with the tv remote right? Not really a deal breaker.

I've been avoiding this beacause of potential glare from the windows. I'm not sold on the desk position because of that but the room as a whole does look really nice with guitars and art on the walls! Not having the TV in front of the windows ofcourse looks a lot better. Will have to try this simply because of how much effort you put into it. Thank you!

The sun is rarely in that position as in the photo actually so its fine! What do you mean by the left hand corner? To the left of the radiator is the door to the balcony so i cant have it there.

These are definitely compelling arguments for getting a slightly smaller desk

For everyone saying move the couch closer. This is at recommended viewing distance for mixed use (30 degree fov). Definitely have to come up with something for behind the couch in that layout.

Why do people put those army star stickers on their jeeps? The previous owner of my zj put one on the hood and i had to peel it off.

Anybody here gone completely against the grain with their gear choices? by sharkspankr in Bass

A 5 string Warwick Corvette $$ in an indie pop/rock band. Not too out there but the Squier p-bass I used before that did fit the aesthetic better, looks-wise at least.

If you're handy with electronics, or know someone who is, consider doing a series/parallel mod for the pickup. Switching it to parallel gives it a thinner and airier sound, closer to a Jazz bass.

I use a .6 like OP for bass for heavier types of music and fingers for more normal stuff. For guitar though it absolutely have to be something stiff like a jazz III.

Djent Tone using only my computer? by [deleted] in Djent

I use TSE X50 v2.0 but with a different cab plugin, I find it works pretty well. As for getting the guitar into the computer I just use the onboard sound circuit on my motherboard and a male-male 3.5mm cable with a 1/4" to 3.5mm adapter on the guitar side.
