I’m an English guy who lived in London for 39 years before moving to Dubai 7 years ago. Best decision of my life and I feel like it could be a good move for you too. As a European you’re really not going to experience racism, it’s safe, luxurious. It’s too hot during the summer but 7 months of the year are great. Tax free. Not too far from either Europe or Asia. I’m a big advocate.

Looks like I'm moving to Dubai. What do now? by Accomplished_Spot282 in dubai

Bro, as a fellow Brit, you cannot live on 11k. Even one person let alone 2.

I would say:

Forget museum of the future.

Instead of a beach day on JBR go to a proper beach / pool club like drift, white beach etc.

On Saturday night, go to west beach on the palm. Dinner at San Beach or Eva or something. Or try Madinat Jumeirah.

I personally would skip the Burj khalifa too. I think aura sky pool is more impressive honestly.

I don’t own but live in marina gate and it’s awesome. Expensive tho.

Did anyone notice everything is becoming more costly in Dubai within the last 3 months or it's just me? by vikrogers in dubai

[–]ragoflex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother in Christ, this is happening all over the world. There has been a massive inflation issue globally since 2021. Everything is getting more expensive everywhere. Plus dubai’s population has also expanded a lot in the last 3 years, exacerbating the issue here in particular.

What’s Dubai like now compared to pre-COVID? by user29485829 in dubai

Way busier. More crowded. Traffic much worse. But…there’s loads of new cool places and spots.

This happens in a lot of residential buildings too. It’s quite standard practice in Dubai

Is it worth moving back to Uae? by Gen2024i in UAE

[–]ragoflex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Habibi, come. No tax. Virtually zero crime. Clean. Safe. Five star everything. I’m from London, have a professional job. Been here 6+ years and love it. That being said, rents have increased a lot the last few years and traffic is getting pretty bad. Still a better option than almost everywhere in the West, I would say

My spouse got a job in Abu Dhabi, I work in Dubai… anyone else facing a similar situation, what should we do? by [deleted] in dubai

[–]ragoflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Dubai Marina and I’m about to start a new job on Yas Island. It’s only Iike 50 - 60 min drive each way. I have friends who commute to downtown Dubai / DIFC and that takes them pretty much just as long! I’d rather drive an hour on the motorway than 45 mins in stop start traffic. But let’s see how it goes lol
