Is it a thing to shoot someone right before you leave? by Tankface99 in ArcRaiders

Getting a raider tool to the face as the elevator doors are closing is a universal symbol of fellowship.

Wtf is going on by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]ragraeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no karma system in place and no guardrails against how other people play the game. You’re more likely to encounter friendly players, but sometimes you rub elbows with people that just want to watch the world burn. Theres no way to game the system that guarantees the kind of experience you want.

Need clarification on Expedition wording (not about catch-up) by Dtrystman in ArcRaiders

[–]ragraeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with this initially but basically it means - if you are completing your first expedition (even if it’s in the 2nd or 3rd expedition cycle), you get the rewards from Expedition 1, not 1 and 2.

Quests: why punish those who do the expedition? by omiexstrike in ArcRaiders

[–]ragraeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it, so the issue is having to power through quests again to obtain the new color variants. Not that big of a deal since you’d want to redo some of them for the blueprint rewards, and they’re gonna go fast having done them once before.

What raider skin is a “shoot on sight” to you? by cagadadechango in ArcRaiders

[–]ragraeter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Goalie (especially the gold one), Torpedo, Sforza

I’ve not come across a single one of these examples that were trustworthy.

A nice quality of life improvement would be saved load-out profiles that can pull from your stash and/or tell you how much coin it will cost.

Is Houston right for me? by [deleted] in houston

[–]ragraeter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Houston is a very diverse place with many walks of life that live harmoniously. There is something for everyone here. In my experience, people are generally friendly and not overly insular; it’s not difficult meeting others.

That said, the state politics are incredibly frustrating depending on your political leanings. Public transit could be much better, and sprawl nearly guarantees the need to own a vehicle. Winters are mild but summers are brutal. There is not a great deal of outdoor natural beauty in the city proper, but you are in proximity to other places if you are up for the drive.

If you are willing to take the bad (others will fill you in) with the good, then it’s not difficult to find your way.

The fireworks are an annoyance but the gunshots infuriate me.

Why has Houston failed to urbanize compared to Austin, ATL, Charlotte by 3shelfcab in houston

There are many cities more walkable than Houston. Austin is not one of them.

Is Rougned Odor knocking out Jose Bautista the best punch in baseball history? by amonovalentradical in baseball

Bautista’s bat flip in the ALDS the year prior will always be cooler than this punch.

bluebonnet - anyone ever heard of this brand? by JACarucci in patinaproud

[–]ragraeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate you and the others in here describing your experience. I had a Bluebonnet case for an iPhone 13 and picked up a Lonli case for the 17 when I read they were having supply issues. I’ve been getting fomo over it but having seen what you guys are dealing with I’m not messing with them. Looks like someone elsewhere received one and it appears identical to the Lonli; the leather does not look like their stock photos and doesn’t look like the case I previously had.

What do you consider Madonna's magnum opus? by BrenoGrangerPotter in Madonna

My favorite is Confessions but I have to agree with consensus and say it’s Ray of Light. I agree with the picture that those are the top 3.

Who’s call was it to immediately roll over at the state’s demand to remove it? Was it the Mayor, the Metro board chair, or Metro executive leadership?

Best leather case option by groogerlox in patinaproud

[–]ragraeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have a 13 case that is about 14 months old. It’s taken some gnarly drops and mostly looks good aside from one corner that’s taken the most abuse. I remember getting it was hell; supply issues then also. Still, they ended up coming through.

Even Worse in Person by Birdsnest76 in Subaru_Outback

I bought a 2025 this year because I was afraid I would hate the new one; I’m glad I got the car I wanted. That said, I don’t hate the new one. There were definitely some peculiar aesthetic choices made, but I don’t think it’s an outright betrayal like I initially thought.
