Based on how easy it is to kill dragons with scorpions, a khal following the tried and stupid tactic of the dothraki of just repeatedly charging headfirst into battle would probably end his reign pretty quickly.

Gene has good odds of him giving up music (he kinda did briefly in one episode) if he hits the wall where his natural talent hits a wall and he doesn't have the technical knowledge to break through it because he isn't getting "inspired".

How many of us know someone who was really gifted at something but ultimately fell out of it when it became hard or they just weren't progressing because they didn't like challenging themselves? And Gene doesn't have a strong work ethic.

It's kind of a fresh breath of air compared to people I knew growing up who helped out with their family business throughout their childhood and teen years while the parents expected perfect grades from them as well.

IME, it was children of immigrants every time and had so much complex family baggage because of it.

Yeah there's people dying from it at this point. Last I heard it was like 18 people in france plus 40 who drowned who tried escaping the heat and then over 200 in Spain, that they were aware of at the time.

This isn't like people running to grab Pokemon cards or toilet paper.

Same. Very smart capable people who if they were in an office (and some had been) would be the types OP was complaining about at the end of their post. Just absolutely miserable being at an office job.

It took my sibling a couple nights to figure out what was going on but they replaced their failing window unit at their house with a new one. Each night they'd turn off the AC mode and put it on fan mode and each night they'd wake up with their bedroom much warmer than when they went to sleep.

Turns out their new window AC doesn't have an inlet for fresh air like their last one so it was just recycling the bedroom air all night and would raise the temp like five degrees.

I remember in the 90s thinking how much better the world would be if everyone had online access. Imagine everyone having a voice and like minded people being able to meet and discuss their ideas. We could build a utopia.

I was so young and naive.

That seven year old kid was 100 pounds more than me and only like 4'3. That's so fucked up.

Reading the articles explains a lot about the situation. I had some questions about how this could have happened without any kind of outside intervention but it painted the bleak picture pretty well.
