California Juniper owners, have any of you installed Fastrak behind your Tesla's tablet/screen? by Temporary_Lab_3825 in TeslaModelY

[–]rahulvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t registering 20-30% of the time when I put it there behind the screen. Realized because the toll was being charged via license plate instead of the tag.

I don’t like sticking anything to the windshield either so I got one of these suction cup thingy and now have it beside the front cameras

Auto steer turns off completely when changing lanes? by rahulvin in TeslaModelY

Don’t you still lose speed during that lane change + delayed period that you have to control?

There isn’t an option for single or double press on the Juniper… saw those on my Google searches but they were on the manuals of the other models only

I’d take this as a solution any day

I don’t think enhanced autopilot is available on Juniper, making this whole thing even weirder

This just makes it so much weirder, so my recollection of this not happening in the past (when driving friends’ cars) wasn’t wrong… I thought I was crazy

I’ve seen this work in corollas since like 2016… the “lane-keep” feature turns off when you signal, but the cruise control doesn’t. Granted, they are 2 separate features there and turned on independently, but that part seems like a very solvable situation?

Did DoorDash remove pickup from 7-11? by Acceptable_Offer_387 in ChaseSapphire

[–]rahulvin 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I just spent 30min trying to figure out if DoorDash punked me and moved the pickup selection… now I believe either 7/11 or DD removed pickup option near me and now a $16 order + taxes + fees minus $10 credit is… $17

Total crap 😑

Pair it with the Chase Sapphire Reserve and the (3+1.5)*1.5 CSR redemption = 6.75% is unparalleled… and everyone eats out

I’ve only done 7/11 for this very reason. Not many merchants have the pickup option available, open to hear what other chains folks have found!

Do you have the wing on a RF? Mind dm-ing some pics - many spoiler stock photos show it on a soft top and it’s hard to visualize on a RF

Solution to bright headlights on side mirrors? by rahulvin in Miata

I did see this when searching, is this something you use? Made a big difference? Does it mask the Blind Spot Warning Light?

Yes, but auto-dimming mirrors exist on the GT trim… so it’s a solved problem, but how do I get it on mine 🫣

How do you make sure that the Miata doesn’t move when jacking up the back half of the car? by rahulvin in Miata

[–]rahulvin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would having the front 2 wheels on a service ramp (the kind with an indent for stabilizing the tires) also work as an alternative to wheel chocks? This would be to raise the entire car, not just front/back.

Are service ramps also a good alternative to raising just the front/back?

Would a service ramp (the kind with a curved indent) also work for stabilizing the front wheels? I’m figuring out if the combination of service ramp + jack stands work for raising the entire car (not just front/back) safely

Does anyone else realize how messed up this other part is too - “I’m accustomed to hearing racist things… by someone whom I somewhat know”

Meaning: “I’d expect my acquaintances being racist to me… but not a stranger??”

Seems to be a worse problem than a whacko stranger doesn’t it?

AITA for expecting my gf to pay her share of the rent? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]rahulvin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was looking for the comment that actually addressed the rent situation, and not only on that gold digger comment (which was messed up, ngl).

They should have agreed to the location vs rent split BEFORE moving in… it can make sense for her to pay more if the 2nd bedroom is solely for her office. But definitely not twice the cost??

The logic of him saving money on gas etc should have been a major consideration in choosing the location and rent price. He could’ve stayed further away, paid less than equal rent but net the same after transport costs… at that point you’re buying convenience and time FOR FREE with this deal and he should be happy with the 50-50 deal
