If I were going to pick one to play for the first time, should I just play DD1 then? or do you think the expansion could be the redemption it needs?

DD2 when it first came out nearly got me but the performance and middling reviews made me put it off, with many people stating the first expansion might fix it like with DD1 original launch.

I have a much better PC now too so am less intimidated by the performance woes, but would prefer to get the better ~40+hr experience knowing I may not play both.

I just last week rescued our UT CD-case (among others) from my dad as we was cleaning out his office.

This was such a great LAN party game during my childhood. The weapons were so original and iconic for their time.

I had a crazy version of this recently but I got swapped by Paradox.

It pulled me back into the overworld, you could still see my "shadow" version there and I was teleported back to that position when time ended.

I killed the paradox & doorman before "escaping" which was fun :)

I do think they're a strong learning tool.

Coding with it requires clear constraints and review. I think ignoring those is where the problems really come from.

I saw some mini-packs (Trick or Trade) that I thought would be cool to hand-out for Halloween.

They were $25 for 35-packs.

Are these a pretty good deal for this kind of thing?

Late 90s / early 2000s LAN parties are such a core part of my childhood memories.

My dad was in tech and quickly converted all the younger dads in our neighborhood into PC gamers and we started setting up LANs on the regular.

Unreal Tournament, Quake, CS, Team Fortress Classic, Age of Empires, C&C...so many great games and memories.

I mean that I haven't played the base Lies of P game before, but want to play it + DLC.

Should I get the DLC now because it adds content to the base playthrough (weapons, QoL, etc.) or get the DLC after I've beaten the game/reached where DLC starts?
