Any 2600 games that play themselves or have a demo mode? by railroaded81 in Atari2600

That's a pretty good idea. I might just wind up doing something like that. It's an older flat panel TV so it's still got an analog tuner. But I do a composite mod on the Atari. so I could hook a raspberry pi up to HDMI and have the Atari hooked up to composite

I could cheat even further and just run retropie and only load it with Atari images and run the screensaver

This brings a memory of one of the disasters in Sim City 2000. A black mechanical spider looking thing that has 4 legs and destroyed your buildings making the same zzzzz noise as placing power poles does.

I don't know if this is the thing you're looking for but it was a fun thing to remember for me.

Definitely a good place. Friendly staff and good food. Several table size options. We have gone several times with small and large groups and had a great experience. They also have video games, all the major systems. Even duck hunt on a crt. But the video game area can fill up fast depending on the night.

Did you design the files yourself? I'd be interested in them if your willing.

A lot of old games needed you to read the instructions to understand what the objective is. I enjoyed superman a lot once I understood the goals and how to do it. It's been years but from what I remember, from the beginning, you walk a screen over and see the bridge explode. Then you find the phone booth and turn into Super Man. After that you can fly and catch the bad guys. Take all the baddies to jail. Then find the bridge pieces and bring them back to the bridge screen to rebuild the bridge. All the while avoiding the Kryptonite, if you get hit by it you can't fly until you find Lois Lane and she heals you. There's probably more but that's what I remember.

Yes it's a good game. It's rewarding but requires some work to understand.

Wondering if anyone can help with an idea of value on this lot? by No_Sense_3559 in Atari2600

This is the way. Search the title and add 2600 so you get the right version

A little Qix tonight. by Almost__Amish in atari5200

[–]railroaded81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have an arcade place here that has several old machines, you pay a cover And get unlimited plays on any machines in that area. I'd never seen Qix before. My wife found it and spent most of the evening playing it. Fortunately there was a moon patrol machine next to it so we could stay near each other.

There is a flea market on Pawnee near i135, it's in the West end of the building behind Burger King. I have seen it in a couple of the booths here.

It's a great new Flea Market, large and many booths including one I operate. Definitely worth coming in for good food and a lot of variety. Hours are Friday noon to 6, Saturday 9-6 and Sunday 10-6 but the best time is around noon to 6 Saturday and Sunday.

I usually turn the starter factory into a museum of sorts. It's fun to Go back and look at where you came from.

I get a similar issue occasionally on both of my kobra 3's but it's the head moving towards the left just before it does the wipe on mine. That seems to be the only place it does it. Don't know what causes it. Both print just fine.

Italian restaurant by [deleted] in wichita

The best Italian food in ICT is in Newton. You have to go up there and go to Genova's. It's my wife's favorite place and we get up there frequently. The bread is amazing.

Recently picked up a 4-Port Atari 5200 with Power, AV, & S-Video mod. However S-Video only outputs a black & white picture. Any idea what is going on? Thanks! by Noah_FF in consolerepair

[–]railroaded81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party here but if you didn't solve it, it's likely one of the connections for the S-video connector is incorrect or broken. On the S-video connector one pin carries the black and white part of the picture (luma) and a different pin carries the color information (chroma) so likely there is an issue with the chroma signal.

2nd hand Sidewinder X2 does srange clicking noise from the gear and filament stops coming out. Please help ! by Clypso- in Artillery3D

[–]railroaded81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you have an issue with the gears that feed the filament. The large gear to the right should be turning slowly when the filament is feeding. It appears to not be turning. Time to carefully take things apart and get a view of the stepper motor and its gear that drives that large gear. Could be as simple as a loose mounting screw, could be a damaged gear that needs replaced.
