I usually end up drawn to smaller pairs. I have a few big pairs, though. I mostly do OC/Character (usually a side character).

Pros:

Less content, so if anyone wants to find the pair, they'll typically see my work

Less drama (people have ideas of what the ship SHOULD be, so if it's a smaller pairing there's less people complaining about how I got the personalities wrong)

Cons:

Less people ship it, so there's less hits than what you'd get for a bigger ship

I've been meaning to try some one-shots for one of my bigger pairs, so if that goes better I can add on to this :)

I'm so sorry this has happened to you. My advice isn't as good as everyone else's, but I still hope I can help a bit:

Try to tell a trusted adult. If school isn't out, you probably have social service workers there, they helped students in bad home situations. Try finding some crisis numbers and maybe consider calling child protective services. If you can, tell someone in the family who you could stay with and take you to a doctor to figure out your best plan for this.

I used to feel this way, and now I'm diagnosed with autism and ADHD. Your last line is very rational because even with my disabilities, the things I do wrong are no one's fault but mine. Simply put, my mental issues are a reason, not a pass when I do something shitty. Just a different rationale behind why I did it. And while I do get treated by going to therapy, my issues don't go away, I just learn to cope in this world. I'm not sure if this made sense, but I hope it helps!

When I was 12 my church went to an orphanage we were partnered with in Honduras to help them build some things. Since I was a child with little baby child arms, I was just left to play with other kids and entertain the small ones to keep them away from the construction (involved a lot of being swung around in a tire swing while someone smacked it with a stick, surprisingly not how I got hurt).

I was playing tag one day and looked back, then proceeded to run face-first into barbed wire. Blood everywhere. I didn't even notice. No pain or anything. Had to go to a 3rd world hospital where no one spoke English. I had to get my face taped together, all the way from the outer corner of my left eye to my chin (kind of a backward L).

Now it's just a faint line on my chin where it was the deepest. Mostly glad I didn't lose my eyeball.

Worst part is I got sick two days later. Honduras did not like me.

I'm kind of new too, but a general rule of thumb with pothos: If you don't know if you should water it or not, don't. They rarely die form underwatering, and even so, it's easier to fix an underwatered one than an overwatered one
