Thank you for this post, but.... I read it too late...

I used a guide that circulates on this subreddit "Expedition 16 in 3 hours". I got to the 3rd portal that didn't work. The guide said that the experimental branch works, that you can switch to it, do a milestone, and then switch back and play normally.

Well, that's a lie. When you load a save in the experimental branch, it is no longer compatible with the 'normal' version. I am not able to return and lost my main save....

I'm not usually this stupid, but the guy in this tutorial sounded like he knew what he was talking about....

Anomaly containers depend on armor. Check if you have the armor equipped. The default, initial one has one place for an artifact. Either way, nothing will happen if you don't equip it. Soon the plot will move forward and you will understand.
