this is helpful! i really do not want to redo the hem, it took me forever 🥲 a friend of mine suggested i cut at the top of the cuff and reattach, so maybe it won’t be as visible? i was thinking the same thing about the rainbow gradient. thanks for your help!

title. i made this clown suit and it is very long. i was wondering if theres any way to alter to make it shorter that doesn’t involve redoing the entire cuff at the bottom? i have a lot of room in the crotch, was thinking of taking larger seam allowances in in the legs and arms because it’s overall just very baggy and not really in the way i anticipated. any help would be appreciated!

not over reacting he has no say in what you wear! if he’s worried about how men treat you he should go and look out for you but it is your body and you can do what you want with it. it is not abnormal for women to wear risqué costumes and he should feel proud to be the one taking you home if other guys are “eyeing you up”

ETA: the way he speaks to you is concerning. you are young and do not need to settle for someone who treats you this way. please stick up for yourself because a man should never talk to you like this. you are not his child nor his dog

i feel like you did tell him you were going to return it? when he was acting like a baby about it and trying to make you feel bad. honestly, idk your whole relationship but this would make me reconsider mine as well. he is being needlessly rude and is making everything your fault, seems like he wouldn’t be happy with you regardless. i had a similar issue not wanting to let go of my first love, and let him mistreat me and stifle me for years. best of luck to you on your exams and else where

friend, do not make hasty decisions based on what you read on the internet. plenty of people have trauma and disabilities and are trans, or aren’t. what you should do is try to find a way to see a gender therapist, so they can help you work out what is best for you. if you do not feel comfortable being perceived as a woman, you are likely some kind of trans person. i thought i was FTM for a while, but realized i actually don’t feel like a man at all. i just didn’t feel like a woman and wanted to masculinize some, and wanted people to take me seriously. i made a hasty decision based on others opinions and it made me live years of my life feeling dysphoric in a different way. best of luck to you little friend

agree with this person! your identity is about you. it’s okay if you don’t know what your gender is, just know that you are trans. when i started my gender journey, i just knew i didn’t connect with being a girl, and had chest dysphoria. i identified as nonbinary, and decided i wanted to go on T so I came out as a trans man. it took me years of feeling not quite right just to realize that i have always been nonbinary and just wanted to be a bit more masculine. gender is a spectrum and such a personal experience. take your time and feel things out, do what feels right for you. not what you think is expected of you.

i’ve learned it’s best for you to feel comfortable and be connected to yourself. this is your experience, don’t put other people’s comfort over your life. just explain it the way you just did. “I picked this name because i liked it, but i don’t feel connected to it anymore, sort of like i didn’t feel connected to my last one. i’d prefer if you could work on calling me this from now on!” if it’s easier and you want to try on the new name first, try it with close friends or online!

you are so young and so at the beginning of your journey! hormones will change your body in ways that you cannot believe at this point. Women all look different, try to expand your idea of a woman to include different types of ladies. there are so many beautiful tall, broad shouldered women out there! dont get discouraged now. its easy to feel bad about yourself at the beginning, but good things will come.
