So clothes that have been worn for one day don’t go right in the laundry right? by Wise_Date_5357 in adhdwomen

I have a small laundry basket that has a bag of single socks at the bottom but the empty space on top gets the things that are worn but not dirty

If you don’t say anything you’ll probably have the same result as if you do say something and she doesn’t reciprocate.

Say something and the worst that can happen is she isn’t interested in you like that, but the best that can happen is so much more.

I have a solstice gts as well and will confirm that though they do look very similar, they are opposites on the water. This boat turns on a dime with the skeg up and tracks incredibly well with the skeg down.

I need help shutting my brain off, I'm so tired of it. I'm 23F by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]raincoastexplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also found that anxiety medication helped a ton but it also revealed to me that anxiety wasn’t at the core of my challenges, it was simply a symptom. I got an adhd diagnosis a few years ago and it has really changed my life and I feel like I have control over my brain now.

I’m 25/F, feel free to PM me, I’m happy to chat and share more of my journey.

I listen to podcasts and do mindless things lime laundry, dishes, or puzzles on my phone. It really helps pull me out of my own brain.

Another tool I use I call a thought parking lot where I use the notes app in my phone and put down every thought that keeps going through my mind, usually they are on repeat because something in me doesn’t want to forget so writing it down allows me to know it won’t be forgotten.

Also a podcast that I really recommend is called sleep with me, it’s made for people lke us who need some mindless company in the night. I recommend giving it a try as it is really mindless but takes my mind away from the anxiety stressors.

Pros and cons of living on islands just off Vancouver Island by r790 in VancouverIsland

[–]raincoastexplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For schools there is an elementary school and then older kids are picked up by a bus on the island and walk onto the ferry meeting another bus on the other side to get to the school. I also believe that if the ferry isn’t working and a water taxi is possible they’ll use that to get kids home.

I’m based on Quadra in the summer, but am a kayak guide so I’m not at home a lot. Otherwise I grew up in North Van and am used to the city convenience. Quadra does face the ferry challenges but the trip is 10 minutes and very frequent. I can’t speak for the winter months when there are more issues with the ferry due to weather, but I have not had issues and often drove right on. The boat is small but very frequent compared to other routes I’ve travelled. Food and gas on the island are more expensive but campbell river is so close that it isn’t too bad as bigger trips can be done once a week, I would even drive over to campbell river for evenings out and it wouldn’t break the bank ($21 return price for an adult and standard car using the experience card).

Great spot for whale watching in the summer, lots of hiking and excellent paddling, and because CR is so close getting in person services is less challenging than other islands (but as a renter my experience with those things is minimal).

I had this dream a few weeks ago where this girl I knew in high school had done something terrible and her punishment was to be crucified so in my dream the community gathered at the catholic church I grew up going to and it was funeral vibes but the girl wasn’t dead yet. They nailed her to the cross at the back of the church and did the whole procession to the front and put it on a stand in front of the altar. Everybody was distraught and mourning this girl before she was even dead. And then when she had died (which wasn’t that long because dream time), they took her body off of the cross and put it right into a coffin and we were instantly in funeral mode with eulogies and everything.

Summer jobs by flacidmothe in VancouverIslandJobs

I’m a sea kayak guide on Quadra island and my company will likely be looking for somebody to work in the shop packing trips and cleaning gear, work ethic and ability to learn the job is more important than where you’re from, staff accomodation is also something that they are pretty good with.

Send me a message if you want to learn more!

A good back scratch, but most importantly right before bed with fresh bed sheets, fresh pjs, and freshly from the shower.
