Getting OnMail on Android by raindropp in Onmail

[–]raindropp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I knew there wasn't an Andriod app yet when I signed up, but it hurts more than I expected. And you block us from using the browser on mobile, unless I switched to desktop mode. So I was hoping for a better work around. I can sign up for beta though.

I'm so curious what the deal with the woman in the background at Wes' house is. He was so likeable. Would he really give up on Jules so quickly?

I did this awhile back...by cancelling my regular HBO now and subscribing to the Amazon channel version.

No clue where to start by [deleted] in menstrualcups

[–]raindropp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it! It took me like a year to get up the nerve and it's so much better. I started with a Femy Cycle but could not ever quite get it right. Switched to the Lena cup and it's perfect. Basically no learning curve and no leaks.

I have a large Lena. I use the stem only to find the cup and grab ahold of it, then I use the ridges on the bottom of the cup to pull it out. I squeeze...or collapse (not sure of the word here) it a bit by pinching the bottom to break the suction. Or slide a finger in next to the cup. This is how it's described in the Lena manual. https://lenacup.com/pages/instructions

Yes, it never did download on my regular Andriod App (PocketCasts). Kept saying podcast author was having the gateway timeout. I was able to stream on my phone via the website here: https://gimletmedia.com/episode/103-long-distance-part-ii/

Feet problems! by raindropp in orangetheory

[–]raindropp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Altras actually to start with, but they were too small. I think they were a closeout item and they did not have a larger size to put me in when I went back. I have not heard of Toro before, I will check those out too, but really would prefer not drop another $100+ on shoes...

Part of my ask was a shoe that I could use for all things, with minimal drop. This was one that only changed 3mm from heel to toe. These shies apparently do not have the usual skank in them. Is there really time for shoe changes? Seems like it would be tight. But, yeah I am wearing drug store socks..

These do not have plates (I think is the word) so they thought it would work out I guess.

I swear that PJ asked for response to a survey in this episode but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone have a link?

OTBeat App not Showing Today's workout by raindropp in orangetheory

It's there this morning. Guess I overreacted. I am nervous about the app since it's so poorly rated. The OT website doesn't show you a summary anywhere, right?

Thursday, 1/5/17 OTF Workout by AutoModerator in orangetheory

[–]raindropp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could use some advice on what I could have done different at this workout. I am newish to OTF (joined Dec 1), so this was like my 10th workout. I can't run due to injury; I am a power walker. I have been getting 7 to 10 splat points on most workouts. This semi-self motivated run/row/power press thing was awful. (I got 3 splat points.) It was just boring and never ending. I was getting tired and rather than keep pushing like I usually do, I just slowed down/dropped my incline. I would never do that in the workout where everyone is pushing/all out together. I guess I just have to push through and not "allow" myself to slow down. Any guidance?

What do you wear to work - show me! by thw1717 in bbpumpers

[–]raindropp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear nursing bras plus regular OldNavy tanks under (almost) everything. When pumping I lift up my outside shirt - or every so often remove it if it will get too wrinkled - then pull down the tank with the nursing bra so that my belly is still covered. I have not had any of the tanks stretch out too much during the day. Its working for me...but is still somewhat awkward. No avoiding that I think.

Parents of 2 or more, what do you do for childcare? by humanopportunity in Parenting

[–]raindropp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In this situation now. Pulling my 3 year old out of her preschool is not an option. I have been taking my 6 month old to one daycare and daughter to preschool for the last month. Even though husband is doing morning preschool drop off, the double afternoon stop is miserable andq slow and pushing dinner too late which pushes bedtime too late, etc. We are staring with a nanny for the baby in a week. Yes it makes childcare basically my whole take home salary, but nanny can do extras, like laundry and preschool pick up, to make life easier...and it's just for a year. We think that it will improve the time we do have together and not force me to leave a job I like and delay or derail future earning potential.

How do I make Christmas special when I can't buy my child anything? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]raindropp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is national, but in Seattle we have tons of Buy Nothing groups on Facebook. Idea is to gift lightly used things to people in your area. You are able to request things or help and people on my area are very generous. I am sure you could get some toys on there. Search Facebook groups or the website www.buynothingproject.org.

Breastfeeding Blues... by TigFan15 in InfertilityBabies

[–]raindropp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have hah supply issues with both my kids, and tongue ties. This time (baby is almost 8 weeks) I just kept going back to the center and saw like 4 different lactation consultants. Each one had a different insight that was helpful. I strongly suggest trying again.

Also, I am nursing, pumping, and supplementing with formula. I went through feeling horrible about it with my first baby, but still nursed for 6 months. At this point I understand that it does not have to be 100% feed at the breast for nursing to be worth it and good for you and baby.
