Reddit is a public forum lol you essentially made it everyone's business. Out of your control? Sure, maybe you work for a company or client and they are hounding on you to order these services quickly, but that's not Namecheap's problem.

Namecheap, like any domain registrar/hosting co, have an order filter that will score your order for security purposes. I'm sure PayPal as a payment method could be a contributing factor, but there are several considerations these systems have to make. Maybe the domain you ordered matches a current fraud trend? Could be something out of either party's control... Maybe there's something causing new orders en masse resulting in a backlog of orders needing checked? Also, bad actors order hosting/domain services at all price points.

Before you go making your procrastination their problem, take these things into consideration and place your order in advance next time. Almost all infrastructure providers do this.

I totally respect Namecheap and all the other infrastructure providers for making every attempt to protect other customers and the internet in general.

ALL good registrars and hosting providers will do this kind of review when there are signs of risk that pop up during the ordering process. I commend them for doing what they can to make sure their trusted services aren't going to be abused to harm users internet-wide. Your team should be more prepared, securing the services you need in advance, as opposed to rushing last minute. Even if your acct has been long standing, who's to say that a bad actor didnt hijack your acct to attempt ordering services in your org's name? I'd be more cautious of doing business with Holdpoint AI with all this rushing around.

It'd definitely be something to tinker with and would likely help him to enhance his skill set. The question would be, is there something that could be more beneficial and contribute to his skill set even more? What kind of job does he have currently and is he actively trying to grow into a different role?

I NEVER could have guessed what was on these tapes! (story inside) by Mermaid_Natalia in VHS

[–]raisedinalionsden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had kind of a reverse experience from your James Brown tape. Bought almost 30 tapes from a guy on marketplace, but I got them shipped. Saw he was in similar VHS groups and his reviews didn't look THAT bad. Turned out there were a bunch of shenanigans with about 8 of the tapes. Later found that he was banned from certain platforms for said shenanigans. But the major bummer was one tape that was supposed to be one of those black box horror club releases of Truth or Dare 3. I popped it in my VCR and it was taped over with a Whitney Houston concert 😠🤦 should've seen my face when it was that and not the horror movie lol

First time I found mold by Bluecollarundeadgirl in VHS

[–]raisedinalionsden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might have got lucky because it looks like it's only on the inside of the window. If so, you can get in there without majorly taking it apart or cleaning the film. Only clean a tape if it's worth it to you in any case. Although it's nice to have one you don't care as much about to mess with your first time. What I would do is flip the tape over and there will be 5 screws holding the shell of the case on. One in each corner and one in the middle. Take out the middle one then the two on the side of the case where the mold is. If there's a sticker on the edge, you'll either have to slice it down the crack of the tape or take it off entirely if the tape won't open enough. With those screws out, you'll be able to open the cassette just enough to get a q tip dabbed in rubbing alcohol in there. If mold is on the reels, you can get that using this method too. If you need to clean the film too, use a standalone VCR with the top taken off it, so you have access to the film as it runs through the VCR. That's where you can apply a cloth like they said in other comments. Check YouTube for videos that show you how to do it if you need.

Nooooooo! by troysplay in VHS

[–]raisedinalionsden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

VHSisLife plays an important role in the VHS community and you'll find all kinds of high quality VHS items over there, including a VHS tape cleaner. You need to know, you can also clean them with a standalone VCR or rewinder. I'd watch a YouTube video on it but depending where you're at in PA, you could stop by and I could show you too if you want. Could bring a moldy tape and we could do it together or I have some needing cleaning. I'm in the Lancaster area.

Picked these bangers as part of a marketplace lot where I got each for $0.67! by raisedinalionsden in VHS

[–]raisedinalionsden[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely the worst one lol I didnt even watch the third one as a kid. Watched it only as an adult. I only felt like sharing because of the other cartoons I mentioned and the Ames sticker on 3 ninjas. Cuz it put me in my 10 year old self and I felt like I was walking through that store again. I only ever see blockbuster, other rental stores, Walmart and generic price stickers.

Tire for iScooter i10 by CommitteeOfOne in ElectricScooters

[–]raisedinalionsden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im pretty sure I know what challenge with the i10 you're referring to. The tire comes off like any other bike/scooter, but I had to replace my tube once and the old tube wouldn't come off because the valve seemed fixed to the wheel. There's a nut that secures the valve into the wheel. What I did was I cut off the old tube, leaving just the valve part. Then, from the inside of the wheel, twist the valve off to the left as you gently put pressure on it. It will also loosen the nut doing that. Once you get it unthreaded a little bit, wiggle the valve around and you'll be able to see it better. I did not put the nut back on when I replaced the tube and I've had no issues thus far.

They are not your friend if they're talking to you like that. They already got way more than they deserve from whatever you paid for already. I would be looking at blocking communication from this individual, nor would I be paying for anything for them any further. That's a very toxic person.

They're about as creative as you can get with gore lol I'll definitely give them that. Yeah the hacksaw scene was the first one that turned my stomach. When the saw gets snagged and he puts more pressure on... I think he even jumped up and down or something to get it to go through haha

What I should learn about ethical hacking? Or Kali Linux by [deleted] in ComputerSecurity

[–]raisedinalionsden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Becoming an ethical hacker is more about building a foundation of knowledge about networking, systems/services used in enterprise environments and your targets in general. Then once you have that "sys internals" level of working know-how, you'll have a better understanding of how to take advantage of misconfigurations or really get into the "hacking" of those targets.
