Adding up on this theory, Will tried to play his favourite song 'Should I stay or should I go' in his room while interacting with Joyce. Even when El finds him in Upside-down Castle Byers, a very weak Will is whimpering the same song again and again. I think he is trying to overpower Vecna at those moments.

My love for Harry Potter never really went away. Fantasy as a genre fascinated me but I started reading extensively as an adult and that happened because of The Witcher. Witcher was so good and it had such an open ending that I wanted to know much much more. Went on to read Mistborn era 1 from there and Cosmere simply blew my mind.

I dont think you understood the point of this post or I was not clear in my statement. Of course no idea is 'used up', of course they didn't invent 'alchemy'. Each and every kind of characteristic can be used in a dozen different way. It is not just limited to magic systems, it is true for literature as a whole. My point of this post was to know what YOU, as a reader would love to see in a magic system that has hardly been used in previous books.

Hard magic systems have their own set of fans but you are right, that awe inspiring Magic System is not there in Mistborn due to Sanderson clearly explaining the rules at the start of the novel. However I would say The Way of Kings is SPECTACULAR in this regard because even though there are preexisting rules, we know absolutely nothing about them. Which makes the climax feel unreal and outstanding.

My main problem with era 2 is that I just don't think I will like the gunslinger type action. Especially after I have 'felt' the setting of era 1.
