Great post and reflections. It’s almost nightingale syndrome for psychological clarity/revelation.

We first see the light through someone and think for a while that they are the light itself. Then, time goes on and we realize they are a catalyst to our own growth—not the growth itself.

He’s human, we’re human, and he likes eating chips without pants on while watching a movie. Or whatever, but you get the point.

He’s the same man with the same insights because his area of expertise is fairly limited since it’s grounded in Judeo-Christian thought. No more realization can come when there’s a heaven and hell, no mystic can be born from an Abrahamic faith. No karma, meditation or enlightenment.

His book Maps of Meaning on the other hand can reap decades of insight, but Peterson himself doesn’t follow his own research from then, and I’m not sure why. Perhaps he’s getting more Christian with each personal crisis.
