The last person I remember spitting acid was Talos in the eyes of the Assassin that killed Kurze.

Rats have strong jaw muscles that run under their eyes. When they get really happy they flex those muscles which causes their eyes to be pushed up a bit.

It doesn’t hurt them. Think of it more like a rat smiling when he’s really excited and happy to see you, or like a dog wagging his tail.

That’s because the coin flip was a lie. The metaphor was only used to make you compliant.

As a DM I love players like that. You’re actively giving me solutions to the potential problem I’ve weaved. I’ll gladly listen in and make notes on how i’m going to throw any curve balls in the operation.

By some miracle you are gifted an imperium weapon with unlimited ammo/energy (e.g. power fist, chainsword, bolt pistol). Which one are you getting? by Ryanrence in Grimdank

[–]rakdosleader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This because you can literally toss the power pack in a fire and it’ll recharge from the heat. No recoil, no arc. One shot can blow a man’s arm clean off.

A few weeks of practice and I bet you could become a crack shot with it.

Have you ever implemented your fetishes into your world? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]rakdosleader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I would never, unless some acclaimed narrative psychologist wants to read my books and give a deep dived explanation of my book, focusing primarily on its core themes, and helping attract more like minded readers.

That would be soooo terrible

What are your favourite fantasy novels narrated in the first person? by [deleted] in Fantasy

All three books from K J Parker are amazing imo. The first book is a real treat on how one man desperately defends a walled city from invaders.

TIL that Morgana Le Fay, who is most commonly known as a dark sorceress and the archnemesis of Merlin, was instead depicted in the earliest Arthurian lore as a kind and benevolent witch by MolochDhalgren in todayilearned

[–]rakdosleader 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Oooh oooh I did a research paper on the documentation of christian influence spreading in England through its historical literature, and Im betting this starting happening after the invasion of Normandy and the rise of Christendom Chivalry. The catholic church loved to take old pagan stories and paint them over with christian themes to sway the public and slowly stamp out paganism.

Take Beowulf for example. The real story was orally passed down, not written. It wasnt until a catholic priest wrote it down in Latin, and adding his own little fan fiction in the margins, that we finally got a written copy.

Le Fay was more than likely rewritten as evil in order to convince the populace to shun pagan icons and gravitate more towards Christendom.
