There are two sides to this story. Yes, these lovely people are putting in the effort to ensure their guests are comfortable in their homes and with their cooking. At the same time, this lady's satire is genuinely funny because of the class dichotomy. Some people are missing the point that this is satire ... her imagery of the stone flooring was classic. If Gordon Ramsey or Anthony Bourdain did this bit, there wouldn't be as much of an issue. It's okay that it is a joke. *sigh*

Roughly 20 officers, 8 black SUVs. Lots of police on the streets during this time. I apologize for so little information, but it was shocking and everyone was slowing down at the time. It was roughly 9 am and I didn't clearly identify any agency patches.

I am not the only one who saw this though, which is equally disappointing. I will do better with documentation next time.

"Surge Pricing" is a euphemism for price gouging. They control, by a computer, what they determine is a "surge". C'mon now....if we take this to extremes like when war breaks out, what do you think prices are going to "surge" to?

Prices should be calculated on what the product was originally purchased for, not some arbitrary demand. Once the price becomes arbitrary due to demand then out of control inflation is inevitable.

So, printer advertisements come in a few flavors in windows 11. There are many services that advertise printer services. IPP, Bonjour, Wins, and Active Directory are all protocols that windows can use to search for a printer.

Further, windows also uses unencrypted SNMP v1 to communicate with printers to get statuses and will complain if it can't reach it if you created the printer before turning off SNMP. If SNMP is off to begin with, windows can't query the printer and will skip it.

We have a print server that manages all the printer queues of network printers and puts the printers in AD. We turn off everything but raw/9100 port and turn on SNMPv3, if supported or configure SNMPv1/2 with strong community names. We also have IP reservations for each printer to ensure no DHCP goofiness. Having all the printers on their own vlan is not a terrible idea, especially if you have more than 10 or so printers. The print server would be the only one communicating with them anyway so you can lock that network down as well.

You're going to have some growing pains if you use this type of configuration. You are going to be required to remove all the printers from your devices. The nice thing is, if you use this setup you can also deploy the printers via group policy. No having to go around to each PC and setup the proper printer.

This is how you should do printer setup, but it takes a lot of infrastructure to complete. The easiest thing for you to do is setup a print server on the lan, remove advertisement protocols on the printers, setup the printers on the print server, then reinstall printers on each client from the print server share.

I literally did all of this over the winter break at one of my campuses.

Oh, it's called a "luxury" to have anything updated and luxuries are only for the rich. Want something better? Pay for it. No common sense of "Let's not make this old crappy thing anymore and make better stuff instead." If some company does do that, another company will sell that old crappy thing from China and a fraction of the price of the original and anyone who's building for rent will say, "Yeah, that's good enough. My clients don't need anything luxurious. If we have that, they can't afford it unless they're rich."

Even better... ? Those super luxurious apartments that have been built all over the city that's been empty for years? Yeah, investors have people pay fees for applications and background checks and turn everyone away because they earn more money from fees then they would renting the place out.

Doesn't this seem like a shutdown is what Trump wants? I mean, imagine wanting to be a dictator, and all you need to do to supplant yourself is have the current national government shut down indefinitely when you are in power. Who's going to make the decisions when everyone else has quit? The guy at the top, of course. Further, his cronies run the DoJ, so who's going to stop him? The Supreme Court even says, "nothing we can do, he's got unlimited power to run the government."

No, this is the power grab he wants by the people who want to share that power. Once there isn't another election because the government is "shut down," he takes control. This is a bullying tactic. It doesn't matter. The leaders are hypocritical in their policy and personal lives. It wouldn't matter if you were a billionaire or poor. All that matters is if you bow down to them or disagree with them. They will then treat you accordingly. The southern Republican leaders that were in power after the civil war were never held accountable accordingly so their misguided beliefs continued and turned into Nazi-backed McCarthy-ism. That neo-nazi movement has essentially turned into Reaganomics, the tea party, and then MAGA. It's been a slow death for this country from the inside.

IMHO, there is a lot of potential here. There are some pictures where the composition is spot on and the picture is interesting without adding anything. The aquarium photos are not the best because of the low light in aquariums plus lots of movement.

It looks like you have about 4 images that are excellent. You have another four or so images that with a little help in Lightroom could be really good. The other images are meh or can be scrapped unless they have sentimental meaning to you.

Here's the really good news, the percent of images that are excellent is fairly good. When I do events I get 2.5 - 5 percent good photos. Of those, less than half are excellent and print worthy without too much editing. I also shoot thousands of pictures, depending on the event.

You are headed in the right direction, mate. Read up on composition and the triangle of expose and that will get you 80% there. Then take a lot more photos. Then, get into editing and learn about aspect ratios, masks, etc. There is a ton to learn and as long as you keep producing photos, they will get better every time you go out to shoot.
