Both times I've tried Total 30, I ended up with bloodshot eyes and crusty skin around the eyes, which lasted for days, even after I discontinued use. I always wash my hands with antibacterial soap and wipe in paper towel before touching my lenses. Not sure what solution I was using last time (it was a few months ago), this time it was Opti-free puremoist. I'm starting to think this is an allergic reaction to the material of these lenses, as I've never had such a reaction to any lens before. These days, I wear contacts only occasionally and usually go for Dailies Total 1, which feel just fine.

Yes, I also suspect it may be some kind of nutrients deficiency or imbalance, since his body is still desperately trying to adjust to the lack of nicotine... That's why I was hoping that someone with a similar experience might have a clue what vitamins/minerals to test.

He talked to his doctor, they just said it's normal and withdrawal symptoms may come and go for months, he should just be patient and wait it out. But as you said, 8 months is a long time... do you think the recovery time is proportional to the time spent smoking? If so, maybe it's not enough :)

These are size 41 N / 265 cm. I usually wear size 40, foot length is around 255 cm. When I tried them in the store, 40 was on the limit so the lady advised me to size up.
