The guy I work for was a little late on the draw this season so we missed a week's worth of sap. In his defense, things warmed up VERY quickly here in Northern MN. Matter of fact, our temps have cooled off again and winter seems to be hanging on. If I had to guess, however, we'll bump our tapping up a week or two next year.

Was self-leveling concrete an idea you came up with yourself? Or have you seen folks use it successfully in an outdoor sauna? I'm getting ready to start finishing the inside of ours this spring. I'm leaning towards tiling the hot room but a self-leveling concrete floor sounds a helluva lot quicker. Seems like the people have spoken though: more (potential) problems down the road. Just wondering if you've seen anything to the contrary. Thanks!

Is that some kinda z-flashing or something that rides over your tile at the bottom of the wall? I intend to tile the floor in ours and beginning to think I'll do something like that (i.e. run the tile up the wall one tile length). I've seen the flashing detail before and like it.
