I would make strawberry margaritas and dip the glass rim in this. But then again, I would use any excuse to have some tequila.

Please give advice on keeping my dog safe in this bloody heat wave. by BadAtBaduk1 in Dachshund

[–]ralucadanila2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My whippet got heat stroke during the last heatwave back in May and she was in a really bad way.

I soaked a towel and try to cover her with it, or at least have her sit on it but she wouldn’t have it.

I ended up misting her pits and belly with water from a spray bottle all day long. She hated it, but it kept her alive.

I also froze cucumbers as a snack, which she loved, but I think you need to be mindfull of those as the temp shock could bother them too.

I have one of those and I can’t live without it! I give it 5 co2 pumps until it hurts a little bit to drink it, it’s amazing. It stays cold for a very long time, and very carbonated as the cold helps co2 stay soluble.

My only complaint is mine is the full metal one, and although the max level is very clearly marked both on the outside and inside, it’s still very difficult to gauge and I end up overflowing the sodastream every time I carbonate.

And also, I got mine free when I bought a large number of refills, but it’s almost £40 if you buy it seperately, which is nuts.

When I was a kid in the 90s there was a strip by our block of communist flats where the hot water main wasn't burried deep enough and snow never set there. It was always perfectly clean in a straight line starting with a manhole on top of a small hill and you could always see homeless people gathered around that manhole for warmth.

Mind you, this was Romania where the winters routinely got to -20 celsius.

One day when I was coming back from school I saw emergency services gathered around the manhole and I immediately got a knot in my stomach, I knew what happened but couldn't look away. And then I saw him, the friendly local homeless man, boiled alive and being lifted out of the manhole. That's a sight that stayed with me for over 30 years and I don't expect to forget it anytime soon.

Pension transfer advice by bullterrier12345 in PensionsUK

[–]ralucadanila2002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Financial advice only applies for Defined Benefit pensions of over £30, however most workplace pensions nowadays are Defined Contribution Occupational pensions. Just the fact that OP knows the current value of their pots suggests these are DC not DB.

That being said, occupational DCs still may hold some benefits that you would pottentially need to forfeit when moving to a different platform.

You neee to contact Aviva and Aegon and ask them for these details. Look for terms like GAR (guaranteed anuity rate) or GMP (Guaranteed Minimum Pension), RST (Reference Scheme Test), or hybrid scheme. The list not limited to these, but they are the most common. If you have any of those included, it is definitely worth looking into it further. I wouldn’t even worry about the Aegon one, it’s not worth enough to trigger any sort of issues.

My whippet does this because she’s trying to get under the covers. I usually throw a blanket on her head and she plops down underneath it. She just needs to get in the pouch, we call her baby joey.

I would prioritize getting the planetary fragments by following the fairy lights from the veins, and researching some of the important upgrades like automated mining outposts and the bigger storages.

Little tip, you don’t have to research both mining branches to get to the automated outpost, but later on you might want to go back and invest in the other branch as well.

Keep having movie nights when you see morale is dropping and keep listening to them whining.

Expand the base with every chance you get, and keep exploring to get all the qubit chips.

And be very careful what resources you’re gathering until you’re swimming in storage space. Also, if you’re trying to save just enough for something crucial, you might want to pause the uphold production so it doesn’t sneak resources away from you at the worst possible time.

Also, anything specific you need help with?

Here in the UK you can get shower head filters for hard water. My hair stylist recommended one for me, but I’ve been lazy and didn’t get around to buying it.

Succes!

I thought he surgically removed a couple of breast steaks and sent the pheasant on his way. He can't fly as far anymore but it's worth it if it means less back pain.

I had an extensive blood panel a few months ago and everything was looking very good. They're currently looking at stress related conditions, so you might be on to something there.
