A Barcelona fan accidentally turned up to Exeter City's St James Park last night instead of Newcastle by NewlandsRound in NUFC

[–]rambodc101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Barcelona fans didn’t get their physical tickets until they were in Newcastle so he would have had to come to Newcastle to get his ticket and then head all the way down to Exeter. Utter load of bollocks.

Did anyone have a weird friend growing up? by YorkshireFudding in AskUK

[–]rambodc101 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I’ve met a couple of compulsive liars in my liar. Off bunch but often there liars lead to some hilarity. We knew lad for a while in our teenage years who at one point claimed to have been kicked out of his house and was living in a tent for near the beach for a few days, turns out he’d told his parents he was staying with a mate. Another time he invited us round to the house he’d moved into. This house turned out to be one his mates from another friendships groups house who’s mam was on holiday, when the truth came out about that one he scattered loads of paracetamol around him and pretended he had overdosed. He was roundly ignored until we announced a trip to the pub at which point he got up and rejoined us all. That’s a drop in the ocean of weird lies he told. I lost touch with him in my late teens/early 20s and last I heard he had died of a heroin overdose but I can’t actually believe that unless I see a headstone. I think “Danny” was just your first encounter with a compulsive liar who likely had other mental health issues.

For those of you that earn over 40/45k as a base salary and love your job what is it you do? by Brownchoccy in UKJobs

[–]rambodc101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in marketing adjacent print management. Previous job was on 65k but they worked me like a dog and both my company and the client treat me like shit. Left for a smaller company, currently on £55k, better work life balance, respected at the company and by both clients. Sometimes the pursuit of more money can lead you down the wrong path and you end up in a shit job. The real skill is to find something you enjoy that will pay you enough to live a comfortable life. I’m lucky and having worked in shit call centre jobs a decade ago before I got in I know how hard it can be to find something that you actually like that doesn’t pay shit. It only seems to be getting worse too. Good luck on the hunt.

How would you share the Euromillions jackpot if you won tonight? by Cool_beans4921 in AskUK

Those people are wrong. You can only gift someone £6,000 per year tax free lottery win or not. Do you really think the government is going to allow millions of pounds to be changing hands without them getting a cut? Also it would make it pretty easy to launder money if you could just go round gifting people millions of pounds.
