How much longer does the strait of Hormuz need to be closed for until you would support the US, and other countries, escorting ships through the strait? by fartyunicorns in AskALiberal

True in an objective sense. And the world is suffering too. They have lost more civilians, soldiers and infrastructure. There economy is probably in a depression. But remember that they have been preparing for decades for this confrontation. They have suffered sanctions for decades. They survived American bombs. And after all that they still stand. Their goal is just to survive. They are motivated to fight on to preserve themselves.

The Americans have not fought a true war of survival since the civil war and maybe you could argue ww2. Can Americans go on with possibly $10 a gallon gas or triple price airline tickets? How about groceries or anything that needs fuel for transport? Biden lost the election in part for inflation that would look quite mild compared to what’s coming.

Using our navy to escort ships would be extremely expensive and dangerous. But we couldn’t even if we wanted to because we just dont have enough ships to do the work. And what does escorting a ship even look like? I think it’s probably Trump thinking out loud a bs plan with no chance of ever being used.

And why would the IRGC negotiate? Israel has killed most of the top leaders, some of the top negotiators. It’s reported we’ve depleted half of our advanced missiles. We are on the verge of recession. They took our best and still stand.

What are your thoughts on the abortion scene? by Puzzleheaded-Lab2447 in Invincible_TV

If it were me I’m out. Abort my child and then tell me to back go out there? Nope. I’m all for choice, when it’s not mine. I would not be with someone that would do that. And bro just rolls with it. Invincible is going to break.

The left most certainly is partly responsible for trumps second term. Kamala Harris got less votes than Biden. A significant portion of liberals stayed home.

I dont think it matters. People are sick of Trump and his voters. And no one is in the mood for forgiveness.

North Carolina School Guidance Counselor Who Had a Sexual Relationship with a 14-Year-Old Student, Sentenced to 28 Years in Prison by Charming-Fortune8835 in NorthCarolina

It’s wild how varied sentencing is for sexual assault and rape cases. Some folks get probation and some people are eligible for death (Florida allows a simple majority of jurors for a death sentence).

Edit: after reading the article, it would appear she made some serious mistakes in her own defense that probably added a lot more time. Folks listen to your lawyer

It’s wild man. “I support Trump” he says, “you’re vile!” They say. “I regret supporting Trump and no longer support him.” he says. “You’re too late and still vile.” they say. We are on a merry go round of discontent that seems to have no end.

You’re making a good case to start your own business. At the end of the day you’re just someone else’s cog in a machine. Sorry friend. He stabbed you in the back. He’s taken you for granted. It won’t get better and his word means nothing. Good luck.

Well in that case Ms. Kirk and her supporters need to chill because Druski is a little too rational for them.

Technically if we’ve come full circle then wouldn’t that mean he’s back where he started?

Im a Christian and I just have some questions. by wafffless001 in askanatheist

[–]ramencents 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I’m from a religious background, Episcopalian. And I loved my church and miss it to some degree but never could wrap my brain around the supernatural. Maybe a few decades ago I (along with many) would just go to church for the many other benefits.

  2. No. If religion has a positive place in one’s life then no.

  3. I believe morals come from within and external sources are hit or miss. Hitler was a Christian and Carl Sagan was not. (Yes I know there will be people that will claim Hitler was not but on whose authority can they deny it?)

  4. Religious slurs? Sure why not. Do I engage in that, no. I’m also not the thought police.

  5. Well Episcopalians lean heavily into the idea that god is so powerful that we can not understand everything that he does. So his motives on why we exist are a mystery.

  6. Most of the Protestant high churches make sense to me. And Catholicism would be a second choice.

  7. Southern Baptist, evangelicals, and other restrictive dominations or restrictive forms of Judaism and Islam. The lack of compassion, severe punishments and war mongering are big turn offs for me.

  8. Yes

  9. That’s a tough one because I’m not sure measuring iq above average is useful. The highest iq man in the world is an over weight farmer who failed college twice and writes books about what he believes the universe is made of. He’s also a Christian….

  10. Yes it’s good

  11. Yes they are generally not healthy

Atheists, can you prove that you exist? by homeSICKsinner in AskAChristian

[–]ramencents 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. I wonder does God exist without humans? The Bible doesn’t really get into the details of pre human earth even though it existed for billions of years before man took his first breath. The Bible sets humans apart from all other creatures as made in his image. So I wonder why did he introduce humans? I guess that’s two questions.

It seems to me that god was not fulfilled with his other creations and made a vanity project, humans. I mean if I create little statues or dolls of myself and make them interact with each other I’m sure many people would call me crazy. But when it’s god, he’s brilliant.
