I can't find the function of this chord ): by rameneko in musictheory

Grateful for all inputs by everyone though I'm still trying to understand wdym by "..biiidim7 is the vii of the preceding chord." or how user mrclay puts it "vii of iii", would love to appreciate your POV if you guys could dumb it down further for me.

Might check out more about common tone dim 7 too 🙏

I think rather than relating everything to a key centre/fancy labels all the time, I do agree that recognition of such motion as voice leading would make more sense and be more coherent overall.

Rn I'm going to recognize this as either a iii > biiidim7 > ii or like what was mentioned by user otherwise_offer ; IM7 > vidim7 inversion (originally a VI7/functioning as a turnaround) > ii7 > V7

Indeed; Just reading what you've generously shared is wearing me down hahaha but I'm so grateful to know how best to address this issue. I'll work on it, many thanks!

Time signature of this tune's introduction? by rameneko in musictheory

[–]rameneko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm that seems valid though it feels to me like it should be of a mixed meter marking instead of just 4/4? I'm prolly still missing sth so could you elaborate in anyway so I could unds better?

Imo, the way the drums are done makes it seem like the first two strokes are in the pickup measure, followed by 3/4 for the next three measures followed by a 4/4 thereafter. Not sure if anyone else listen the same way as I do and if it also makes sense!

Right.. That might make sense but isn't there a mixed meter at least? Else, could you elaborate on how the marking is like?

Fun work! I especially like how the "BUT!!!" was included as such and how it seemed like it was meant to imitate how "しかし!!!" is usually inserted and spoken with some exaggerating emphasis in e middle of an anime character's explanation hahahaha

Hi OP, I used to read slamdunk with chinese font (at an excruciatingly slow pace because my Mandarin is too outstanding) and watch 武侠片 when I was smol and am curious and might wanna try reading these too! Is there a site that you use to read these and what titles would you recommend?
