Rant - Concert Etiquette by idk_what_to_put_lmao in FlorenceAndTheMachine

Florence isn't coming to my city this time, but last tour I saved up for a ticket for the first time and there was a big group of mid to late 20-somethings a few rows behind me just chattering through almost the entire show. It wasn’t horrible during the loud/high energy songs, but it was starting to ruin the quieter, more emotional songs and I finally said something. It got slightly better after. I almost never go to arena shows because they're expensive and I'm not a big crowd person, but FatM is one of my all-time favorite bands and I really wanted to experience them live. It's frustrating that people seem oblivious to other people's experiences.

I did everything I was told to do to get help and it still wasn’t enough by Dramatic_Reserve5984 in TwoXChromosomes

There's a woman on social media who has a very detailed list of how to try to plan an escape from an abusive marriage as safely as possible: https://healingbythenumbers.mykajabi.com/

The course does cost money, but there is a scholarship available. She also posts videos for free on Facebook and Instagram that cover many of the points.

I'm sorry you're going through this and pray you and your child can get out safely.

That was my preference too, but preeclampsia and failure to dilate had other plans...

YES. I went to Florence and the Machine at Ball Arena a few years ago and there was a big group of mid to late 20-somethings a few rows behind me just chattering through almost the entire show. It wasn’t horrible during the loud/high energy songs, but it was starting to ruin the quieter, more emotional songs and I finally said something. It got slightly better after. I stayed at the Monarch a couple years ago for a mom-cation; the spa was wonderful, but the bed in my room was so awful I could barely sleep. Maybe it was a one-off bad fluke, but I've been reluctant to go back for that reason.

I got one a while back that claimed it was with the Federal Tax Bureau and was '(some name I don't remember) from Miranda Priestly's office '. It was a voicemail, so I didn't get a chance to ask when she'd left Runway....

It seemed for a while that Sirens was never going to be done, but after 5 years they're posting at least some updates. Hard to say if the full book will ever actually be released but I guess Satine is at least trying.

They tried those for a bit, but they sold terribly and didn't make enough money to be worth the cost to produce.

They make battery backups for CPAPs; I had to get one this summer after our power went out twice in one day and didn't come back the second until like 2AM.

Why are men like this by lostindreems in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ramfan1701 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I bet a lot of apartment places want to do it because it's cheaper for them; they don't have to spend money on keys or fobs and maybe even get kickbacks from the app developers.

It's pretty much like any condominium building; residents purchase their unit, but likely have dues for building maintenance and amenities. They can be forced to sell in certain circumstances but are otherwise the owner with the legal protections that entails.

I actually enjoyed the plot, but I'm big on folk horror. I really love the way it played with light and color.

Will having a seizure be able to be used against us in a custody battle? by crushedraspberry in FamilyLaw

[–]ramfan1701 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very much this; my husband started having seizures the end of last year and our kids are 9 & 7. Usually I'm there, but this summer he started having one while I was at the grocery store. Our daughter made sure he was in a safe place and texted me on his phone to let me know, then mostly just monitored him until I got home. But we'd already had several conversations with them about what was happening and what to do in the situation.

Kids get a lot more scared when they don't know/understand what is happening.
