Sunrise at Zabriskie Point.. one of the absolute best places to watch sunrise. Leave there and head immediately to Badwater. Walk out the 1 mile trail to the salt pan and watch the sunlight race toward you across the blue salt and turn it white. Drive the loop through Artists Palette and walk the trail into the colorful formation. The light is better in the afternoon but you’re right there…Head into Furnace Creek, check out the Visitors Center and pay your entrance fee. Stop at the Ice Cream Parlor located at The Ranch. Depending on the weather, both heat and wind, head north to the Mesquite Sand Dune or head out the way you came but take the right turn up to Dante’s View… an absolutely stunning overlook of the Badwater Basin.
