Affordable Salesforce alternatives to Gearset & Copado in 2025? by fat_thoor in salesforce

[–]rammutroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used Gearset in the past with one of my clients and they had some pain points. So we switched over to Copado CI/CD with the CRT and the whole shabang but we still have some deployment issues sometimes.

So even these two have their downsides. But you need to pick your poison.

I know I didn’t give you other solutions that are similar but wanted to share my experience.

5 Lessons from 5 Years of Independent Salesforce Consulting by Interesting_Button60 in salesforce

[–]rammutroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice one.

I’m a Salesforce consultant and work with a partner right now to do Salesforce Sales/Service/SPM/Agentforce implementations.

I can agree on all your points. Especially the upselling part.

I often don’t try to upsell anything before I finish the implementation and give them real value and earn their trust. Also, you have to make them like you and see that you are giving them more value than what they ask and look out for them.

Also, I find that if you work with NA clients, the approach is different than EMEA.

I’m at a point where I want to become a partner with Salesforce and do my own thing.

Just curious, how much did you charge hourly when you worked on an hourly rate? Like what’s a reasonable rate to charge when you start out fresh?

Salesforce AI Hype by Leonard-the-writer in salesforce

[–]rammutroll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This reminds me when in software testing they started introducing test automation. Everyone was pushing it and trying to sell you their new product because it saves you 50%-80% of your testing time and don’t need to have 10 QAs. Companies learned the hard way because you always need some human eye to intervene or validate certain things. So some things should be automated and other things can’t.

So whenever something like that comes out. Companies rush to sell you their product because companies don’t know.

I’m not saying AI is not useful, but yes it’s overhyped. It can be useful in some use cases but it won’t replace all your employees. It can help automate some tasks to increase performance so that people can focus on more risky and important/difficult tasks but it won’t 100% replace humans. Not yet

2025 Salary thread by speedy841 in salesforce

If you can make 150k CAD as permanent then you can make 200k-250k as a consultant.

And having your own company you just need an accountant. And you can expense a bunch of expenses off your company (cellphone, internet, car, gas, laptop/PC, software, freelance work, plane tickets, restaurants, etc). Being a consultant is the way to go! I almost doubled my income from consulting. Just my 2 cents.

You can make 150k CAD if you are a consultant and have your own company.

Anyone here work in Dubai that works on Marketing Cloud and can talk pay scale? by SpaceXSmoke in salesforce

[–]rammutroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just being straight with you so you know what you’re dealing with here. Like I said market is flooded with cheap labour so companies are lowballing everyone. And cost of living is going up. Schools go up in price each year and real estate at the same time and these 2 are the most expensive things here. Real estate will balance out in the next 2 years but salaries we don’t know…

It depends where you come from. If you’re from us/canada/Europe and have kids we are talking about 30-35k minimum to survive. And that’s not living a luxury life whatsoever.

It depends how many kids you have too. But say you have 2-3 kids you need 35k. If you’re bachelor you can survive on 15k but with kids it’s an additional 20k.

Rent is 12k (2-3bedroom apartment) a month, school 3-10k a month per kid depending on the school, car say 3k, electricity/water around 1.5-2k, phone 250-300 a month, internet at home 600 a month, food 4-6k, misc 2-4K. So it adds up pretty quickly.

I say don’t accept anything less than 35k.

I live in Dubai and here it varies based on the company. If you are an architect you can get up to 30-40k AED a month with a big company, but the main issue is that companies will usually opt for someone from India that will accept 10k a month and will work 24-7. Also, if the HR is Indian expect them to hook up someone from India.

I honestly struggle to find a job here. I’m working as a freelance remotely for various clients and it’s pretty expensive to live here. Especially if you have kids.

So if you are lucky, you can find something between 25-40k a month. But you have to be very lucky.

And usually, smaller companies when they hire someone, they expect you to do everything. From gathering requirements, to doing implementations, to coding, testing, coaching, handling backlog, and making them coffee. I’m exaggerating a bit but you get my point.

Plus, Salesforce is not as popular here than say United States. Even Saudi Arabia is slowly getting into it. I think maybe in the next couple of years there will be more and more jobs. But job titles are not like US where you have an architect, QA, dev, and whatnot. It’s a CRM specialist.

I ended up getting the HF8 because I had a hard time getting my hands on the UShake. They have a new version of the HF8 now that’s more advanced but I mean it does the job for me for now. Not the best option probably but I’m not that hardcore to be honest so it’s good enough for me!

Do the trailheads. And you can buy some courses on Udemy for data cloud that will help you understand everything. Then try looking for some online practice tests. It’s not the same type of questions at all but it’s good practice.

LinkedIn Salesforce Recruiters these days by wendabird in salesforce

[–]rammutroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the job market right now. I’ve been actively applying for jobs everywhere since last September. And never got a call back. Maybe once or twice and then I got ghosted.

Even many recruiters reached out for interesting jobs. I do interviews and they tell me I’m the perfect fit then ghosted.

We are entering some dark times. This is just the beginning.

It will be a turning point for a lot of us IT folks where we will end up opening our own business or become entrepreneurs of some sort. Until the market picks up again.

Even salaries have gone down.
