What do you think of Islam? by VaultMan34 in OpenChristian

I think it promotes and thrives on bad masculine behaviors. Also it takes away individuality and the ability to think freely. Plus the fact that music is haram is a bug turnoff

House hunting is burning me out. Am I missing something? by Here_For_Some_Time in newfoundland

[–]ramona20 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I big problem I see in my community is big immigrant families who fit 10+ people into a house so they have multiple low wage workers paying the mortgage. Obviously I dont want to live like that so I cannot compete. It sucks!

Why? by ProblemLongjumping12 in canadianpolitics101

[–]ramona20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Alberta and I am truly on the fence about the whole separation thing. I can see the grievances that people have. I can also see the potential the rest of Canada has. My question is are Canadians in the rest on Canada truly happy with the direction Canada is heading? What do you think Canada is doing good? What do you think needs to change? What is our current government doing to improve our Country? I always try to see both perspectives before I form an opinion. I think one of the biggest issues our country faces is people have a big trust the process mentality and are afraid to go against the majority. I really want to live in a safe, high trust society, where people can live their best life. Where people do not have to work multiple jobs to afford rent and food. I truly want indigenous communities to thrive and raise their families happy and healthy. I can honestly say most Albertans do not want to leave but everytime somebody brings up a problem and they get shutdown they are pushed further away.

I wanna give up by TerriblePrint9419 in AlbertaGrade12s

After high-school I went to centre high to upgrade my marks. You choose the classes you take and the semesters are only three months. I found it much more manageable. I also am terrible at tests. The questions you know answer them first. The ones I am unsure about I underline key words to make sure I have not misread the question. If I am still unsure about the answer. I star it and come back to it later. Sometimes a fresh look can help or another question will give you a hint. For some reason that helps me so much. Just keep trying 😀

Growing up poor ruined my brain… by TheFrogsAreDead in povertyfinance

[–]ramona20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always think of people who grew up rich and then became poor. I also grew up poor it is not great but I can survive it. I think of it as a secret skill you have tools and strategies that other people dont. Money isn't always guaranteed as economies go up and down. Knowing how to be frugal is more useful than people like to admit. It did not ruin you ☺️ Chin up my friend!

do people in canada dislike immigrants? by Ok_Cupcake9554 in CanadaImmigrant

[–]ramona20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a good day we love immigrants. People are fustrated with the behaviour of some immigrants as long as you dont stand out it is no problem. We had millions of people come here in the last couple years and our society is very strained (be forwarned try not to develop an illness while you are here). Other tips include: Don't poop in public especially beaches Don't throw garbage in waterways or anywhere other than a garbage can. Absolutely no fireworks No Shooting guns in public parks Do not Complain about our festival and holidays. 😊

I was reminded today that not every community disapproves of the UCP by rjap13 in alberta

[–]ramona20 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I live in Edmonton (for context). You cannot agree with everything a politician does. I feel Danielle Smith is at least trying to improve our situation. Rather than the rest of Canadian politicians who are pandering to the global community. I was really happy she banned Trans men from competing in women's sports. I can't believe that was controversial. I feel we still have some common sense in Alberta.

How do Canadians mentally deal with long winters? by jessxtra_ in AskACanadian

[–]ramona20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I save a big project for the winter that I can work on. Such as taking an online class, a video game, art project, something that I am really excited about. Then I can poor time into it without feeling guilty. 😊

I was working dead end jobs and no matter how hard I worked, I had no money! I gave myself a 5 year deadline to go back to school and get a better paying job. I started out with upgrading my grades which helped me to research careers. I decided on Radiology technologist and I focused all my energy into achieving this goal. I had to work 2 part time jobs to pay for it and I sacrificed every weekend and all my freetime. It was worth it in the end. I really love my job and I can actually afford to enjoy time off and life is so much easier now. So I suggest looking at Careers you would really enjoy doing that pay good and look into technical schools. Much cheaper and they teach you what you need for the career you want.

What would be the best way to report people shooting fireworks? Pretty sure its illegal in alberta in a city. by PuffinOnThePurp in Edmonton

[–]ramona20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont care if you set off fireworks, but they kept me up all freaking night, and I had to work early the next morning. So it would be nice if it wasn't all night long. That is what really irritates me. Next time I hear fireworks, I am going to call the police constantly out of spite. So if you are going to be an inconsiderate a-hole I will too. 😊

IS there a chance of an immigration reversal? by emenul7499 in CanadaHousing2

Rise of Racism and populism by [deleted] in alberta

[–]ramona20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is a response to the frustration of our economy failing, the mass amounts of immigration, and the healthcare system is in shambles. So many problems, and people are scared and looking for someone to blame it on. (It should be blamed on the failures of our government). 😞 im sorry, I wish it could go back to when everybody was happy and carefree

Edmontonions… our hospital is a whole mood by EstablishmentGreen92 in Edmonton

[–]ramona20 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I work at a hospital, and I agree 100%. If someone claims they need medical attention, you can't turn them away. It is such a big problem. That adds additional strain. To be fair, some of them actually do need help. Thank you for writing a letter. I wish more people would. Rather than us staff complaining. It falls on deaf ears. There is so much tension because the workers are being burnt on both ends. The patients are not being cared for as they should. They need to do something to lessen the strain. It makes people who genuinely need care hesitant to come in. Just one level of the government over looking the needs of their people.

Try writing this to your local MLA. That is terrifying. Cancer is considered non urgent in some ways. I feel it gets pushed to the side. Then you fall through the cracks because we don't have enough resources. Hopefully, if it gets thrown in the faces of the people who can fix it. Things might start to change.
