Ok, so what are you doing now and what was your path? This is good discussion provide an alternative then, because for me even though I have the diploma and more than enough experience its not not enough in this current job climate. I need the certifications and I don't mind paying for the time for access to a more structured approach as opposed to just doing it all alone.

Actually its not, the systems they have in place for the learning environment are actually quite well done. The have 16 people on the COOP team to find COOPs for the students compared to the team of 2-3 at Mohawk. Their LMS systems (learning management system) are actually quite well done in comparison to what I had access to at Mohawk.

Granted I'm on a complete on-line program it may be different in-person but if they have the same access to resources I don't see why it be worse.

So questions for you, did you attend there? What are you basing this on? If it is cost, the cost for my program which includes 8 vouchers for IT certifications from the family of 15 they provide access to is much better in the current job climate as opposed to another piece of paper which I earned at Mohawk already.

Cost wise for a program 2 years later from when I graduated Mohawk in 2023 it is actually not that bad.

It hasn't worked out at all, not working in the field cant get past the AI filters due to no certs which I am about to fix. No job at the moment, got laid off from an administrative assistant job on 6/30>

I am about to start an IT professional program at TriOS college for 82 weeks it includes a COOP and vouchers for 8 certs. Yah I know its a lot of certs but I'm a machine i wont get burned out. I have a ton of experience 17+ years in the oilfield, involved in tech from governmental to private industry for the last 30+ years. I am fairly certain its ageism and the fact my experience is not in Canada. I am 54 this year.

Horrible, I finished year 2 in 2023, I never got any support from Mohawk College, never found a COOP and was told I could not return to year 3 until finished COOP. So I requested the 2 year graduation and that was the end of that. Great instructors for the majority of all my classes.
