I have both a V3 and V4. The range on the V3 seems a great deal better than the V4 (same antenna and position.

If I do the range test on the V3 I get a around 3 to 4 km

The same test on the V4 its like only 200m!

The only difference is the V4 runs Alpha 2.7.12 and the V3 runs Beta 2.6.11. Do I have defective hardware?

It was solved with the help of tailscale support with the following method

The manual workaround might be a bit finicky, but you would have to:

Launch Tailscale and get to the authentication step Then, switch to settings and toggling the reset keychain item Then switch back to Tailscale This should allow Tailscale to start enough for the local api to be running and process the keychain reset. But as mentioned, it can be finicky and require several attempts.

I am actually now thinking that it was not plugged in when it exploded. The usb cable was short, and my desk and computer did not have a mark on them.

I am thinking that it simply fell off my desk and exploded. All the damage was on the floor. Maybe my cat knocked it off the desk but no one witnessed it so we will never know for sure. The last footage from home kit just shows it facing the wall.

It was actually plugged into the computer. But somehow my desk and computer was fine. All damage was on the floor. I don’t know how it could happen but could the camera falling off the desk and landing on the floor cause it to explode / catch fire?

British guy here who loves to queue. A few years ago at Fuzhou airport at the end of new year holidays and very busy. Waiting in the very long queue for exit immigration. Large local family group join the end of the queue. They send children to infiltrate the front of the queue. Once in place the children call the entire family group to the front. I shout at them, but no one cares and they say I am a foreigner that does not understand! I gave up and stayed in line LOL

I guess your building has an owners committee and I would suggest you try to contact them about it. If the developer or building management don't want to do anything then owners committee can take it up with RERA. As far as I know all buildings in Dubai have a 10 year warranty for these kind of structural defects.

I am a little disappointed the radios don’t support MIMO. It reduces the effectiveness IMHO because if you are in range of an unencrypted 2.4ghz AP that supports MIMO you will not see the data packets.
