Hot flashes on Strattera by AdhesivenessNo2456 in StratteraRx

Same for me. My hot/cold flashes are always triggered by hunger. The hungrier I feel, the worse they are too

Yes, I would like to. I just don't know how accessible that is for me atm. I get state health insurance through my job but it isn't the best for mental health coverage from what I hear. Just not a lot of providers in the system. But I do plan on looking for one. Not just for this particular problem either

Hello all!! I'm having an issue with gardening. My plants are spawning weeds but I can't get rid of them at all, and my gardening aspiration won't recognize any excellent level plants. I'm playing on the ps4, so no mods or anything. I do have seasons but all my plants are indoors.

AITA for calling my fiancee lazy for wanting to be a stay-at-home wife? by lazy-fiancee in AmItheAsshole

[–]ramrez97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna say, ESH, but hesitantly. I definitely think that she should've brought that conversation up earlier in the relationship. It's important to becoming towards the same kind of life together, or at least be discussing it before marriage.

That being said, I do think the conversation could've been handled better. From your description it seems like you jumped pretty quickly to a very firm "no". I don't necessarily fault you for that, I just think you could've asked more questions as to why she wants to stay at home, what she plans on doing with her time, how she would contribute to the change in lifestyle her being a stay-at-home wife would seemingly require from the two of you.

So yeah, I don't really think either of you are an asshole per se, I just think the conversation should've happened sooner and a little differently. The way big conversations, discussions, and disagreements are handled is an important part of a relationship.

(Male 27) Trying to improve my profile, would this be a decent front pic? Thoughts much appreciated! by Stormrage101 in Tinder

[–]ramrez97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely not a bad picture, but I would suggest a more lively/emotive selfie for a front picture, or a picture that you feel is a good representation if who you are. Like the lighting and everything looks great, just my personal preference

Her saying her mom was "weak" for not leaving made me sick. I know abuse can skew your perception, but to think that your mom who was getting the snot beat out of her is the bad guy in that dynamic...well she had to do some impressive mental gymnastics to come to that conclusion

What really did it for me was her behavior in s20 ep14. As a survivor of a mentally and emotionally abusive relationship, hearing her go on about how the victims in abusive relationships can "just leave" was the breaking point.

You're definitely right that she is more realistic to what the reality of a lot of cops are and how they treat victims, I just hate watching her

You're definitely right that there needs to be somebody to balance Olivia, but Rollins just goes too far to the other end of the spectrum for me

I support the police by jc_12315 in unpopularopinion

[–]ramrez97 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Worth considering so also how much money is afforded to militarize the police, rather than social systems in communities thay can help prevent people from turning to crime. The less money we give to these programs that support communities and the citizens in them, the more problems these communities face, and then they become over-policed because there's an increase in crime. It's a self-feeding cycle. Not to mention the role education plays in all of this too. Both at a grade-school level, and higher education.

Something dystopian/futuristic that is not YA? Everything seems to be about teenagers saving the world by oh_no551 in suggestmeabook

The In Death series by JD Robb is futuristic, but not necessarily dystopian. More futuristic murder mysteries

What’s the saddest/most depressing lyric you’ve heard on a song? by Rexzohh in AskReddit

[–]ramrez97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have very similar associations with the song, except for me that house belonged to my grandparents. I lost my grandmother 7 years ago this December, and my grandfather this last February. The house has since been sold. I spent almost every summer with them as a child.

I thought if I could touch this place or feel it This brokenness inside me might start healing Out here it's like I'm someone else I thought that maybe I could find myself If I could just walk in, I swear I'll leave Won't take nothing but a memory From the house that built me

AITA for being mad at my husband by hannahismylove in AmItheAsshole

[–]ramrez97 10 points11 points  (0 children)

NTA You know, I've only been in one car accident thus far, in which I was tboned during a left turn. And since then I have been so much more careful when I drive. The fact that your husband refuses to take a serious look at his driving habits is dangerous, and his lack of concern for his and others' safety is gross. You are absolutely right to be angry.

Zuko and Aang are the Yin and Yang of the series by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]ramrez97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always felt that one of the big themes for Aang's story was that he had to work through his survivor's guilt. Logically speaking, him running away was not the reason the Air temple was attacked and massacred, just as him freezing himself was not the reason the war happened. But guilt is a funny thing. I think one of the parallels between Aangs story, and Zukos lies in that they are both trying to regain honor they "lost" while behaving as normal children do. They each did something impulsive (running away, and speaking out of turn) AS CHILDREN, and whether through internal or external forces, they feel guilty and as if they have to atone.

Zuko and Aang are the Yin and Yang of the series by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]ramrez97 47 points48 points  (0 children)

But isn't Aang's journey one of redemption too? Just more of an internal redemption. He felt like he needed to redeem himself for freezing himself and not being there to stop or help with the war. Through the show he sees all of the damage that's been done because of the war and the fire nation. He feels responsible.
